Will be interesting to see how Maiga does for The Hammers. We came very close to signing this lad, but all the wranglings with Sochaux meant we abandoned this deal. We might not have pursued Cisse had we bagged Maiga first. So, was it a blassing in disguise? I know Maiga seems like he could be trouble having, gone on strike at Sochaux to engineer a transfer. But he seems a decent striker - and the reported £4.7m fee sounds like a very reasonable deal. Could turn out to be a bargain. I'm obviously hoping he turns out to be a bad move for Fat Sham and either causes them trouble, or turns out to be a Premier League flop. I know that seems cruel, but would be amusing. Would certainly be frustrating if at £4.7m he turns out to be a star for the Hammers! Thoughts?
Wouldn't like anything good to happen for Fat Sham. Be a bit disappointing if Maiga turns out to be a big hit for £4.7m though and we missed him.
Honestly doesn't matter to me whether hes a good player in the premier league or not, because had we signed him we probably wouldn't have got Cisse aswell, and I would go out on a limb and say hes definitely not gonna be anywhere near Cisse's level.
We pulled out because of an issue with the medical didn't we? If this is the case it could be a bullet dodged. Expect Fat Sham will try to buy a load of over the hill ponies too...
I care not how the lad gets on to be honest. But in the interests of football, my enjoyment of listening to post match interviews, and orbiting satellites, I think it best he has a ****e time, West Ham do badly and sack Fat Sham. Then hopefully he'll just disappear away and coach in Dubai or somewhere like that. Or better still switch sports to sky diving seen as he likes things being in the air so much.
