The mods on this board are staying, they are doing all they can to stop the wums and spam and threads suggesting they should be sacked do nothing to help so I deleted it.

The wums have been asked to stop and if they dont they will be banned. If they then come back under a new name their IP address will be blocked.

All we all want is for football fans to be able to debate their team and I see no reason why that should be spoilt by a stupid few.

    Please help the mods.

The only problem we have with the mods on here is them starting/joining in with the majority of it and disrupting the football chat

If you stick to talking about football then there isn't a problem. It's not an unreasonable request.

A complaint I hear a lot but my view is that the mods are footy fans first and mods second so are allowed to comment. They do however have an extra responsibilty so I would expect them to be a little more careful than most.

What you cant do is be both at the same time. If you are deleting comments or threads you are in mod mode. Once you take part in the wumming then you cant delete, you are in footy fan mode.

What we are trying to do is strike a decent balance between allowing users to have the freedoms that were denied on BBC 606 without the board descending into a free for all wum match. We join in on threads of course and when the wumming starts, sometimes a gentle nod to the banter as a gentle hint to 'knock it off' is better than simply deleting or closing threads, which can come across as heavy handed in the first instance. When things have got out of hand, we have tried the gentle approach, with a polite PM to remind people about the need to self regulate, but when it becomes incessant, sometimes we have to close threads.

We're not here to try and make life difficult for people, I would hope that the users of this board can see the balance that we are striving for and work with us to make this board enjoyable for everyone who uses it.
