Does anyone think that a mod for the GC board is needed? Not doing the poll thing as a debate would be better. If yes who should it be?
Deffo needed but needs to be someone who doesnt post in GC. We might need to get some outside help on this one... Someone like this guy please log in to view this image
I think the issue is having some one who would be balanced enough to let it run but know when it crosses the line. the difficulty also arises that they would become visible and get a sit load of grief off some of the users, whereas Mick being the site owner is in a different position. So those that use GC may be too close to it to moderate it effectively and those who don't use it may moderate it too much...tricky one really, but I reckon it works as it is
General Chat would be ruined if we had a mod who is a regular user. It would also be completely ****ed if we had a mod who rarely uses it or who doesn't use it at all.
Really tricky one, there is no way it could be someone from the GC and as you say that person being anonymous would be good but is that a bit like the old 606?
I would be able to do it but im not offering to. Done similar before on a forum based around hard dance music with about 20000 members on. Was quite a free for all but just needs common sense. In general chat you need to allow certain things to go on if you are offering a free speech environment but you also need to act quickly and harshly when people over step the mark....racism, personal insults that get too personal, threats etc...
As far as I'm concerned, everything can go apart from serious racial hatred (and no, calling Leicester 'Leicesteristan' does not qualify) and child pornography. Anything else I'd just let continue.
Whoever you get, don't appoint a leicester fan, they're very touchy souls that lot, everyone would be banned
