Gillingham Members, May I please remind everyone that I am a unpaid volunteer moderator for this board, I am sure you will appreciate, I am here to enjoy our board as much as you. Therefore I'm sure you would agree it would not reasonable for me to moderate every single post and thread that gets posted, to be quite honest self moderation has always been the aim of our board. If you are unhappy with content that has been posted on our board, the following self moderation should be considered in the first instance... 1. Swear filter. 2. Ignore button (this will hide an individual's posts, who's name is set in your ignore filter), see your control panel at the top of the board. 3. You request I apply NSFW tags to any offending material ie. pictures. 4. Most importantly ignore the post or thread and DO NOT respond to it. 5. By responding to anything you disapprove of will get a reaction and keep the offending article or post at the top of the board for longer, which surely then defeats the whole object? Feel free to bring articles and posts to my attention but before doing so please consider, did you follow my above guidelines? If so then PM me with SPECIFIC details as to why the content should be considered for my attention. thanks brb
I think I speak for all Gills fans on here when I say that we all appreciate what you do for the board as a whole. Well done BRB
gfclukey - thank you This is not the BBC606 site and a much better place for it, anyone that is looking for that type of moderation is in the wrong place.
1 big difference between this site and BBC606 is no Major. Lol. Seriously though it's actually a very good mix of people on here. As I've said many times before. We are possibly the most civilised forum EVER. That's thanks to all who give their input. UTG
I was thinking of slagging you off brb, but as this thread is about self moderation would it be considered bad form.
Well you would probably get away with that The problem would begin if you then complained, after starting a slanging match, because you never moderated yourself in the first place
I've just looked up self moderation and think I was getting hold of the wrong end of the stick, oh! hang on, that sounds even worse.
brb - nice shot of the scooter. However I think the picture may need some moderation - It's cool - all except the L plate.
Can we moderate our moderation, or is moderate moderation as bad as no moderation at all ? please moderate your answer accordingly.
I wasn't aware that being a mod was such a dangerous occupation - are you really so worried about what's behind you? (pun intended, as I hope was the nature of your pic). I endorse others comments. For the vast majority of the time this is a very civilised board, which is also something that seems to be respected by visitors from other teams. It's such a nice change to be able to banter without exchanges getting personally insulting, or just downright bigoted. I can't personally recall ever actually being on the receiving end of such an exchange, but they're just so boring. Many thanks for your work, and I hope that everyone continues to keep your workload as light as possible.
itsimupnorth - thank you for your kind comments In regards to the pic, yes you got the nature of the pic right... Anyone that knows me will hopefully remember the banter meaning behind the it, always chased, always on the look out for scooters behind me!
