The athletic midfielder, who is nearing a full recovery from a knee injury sustained before Christmas, was on hand to meet youngsters at the annual 5-aside competition, which is now in its twelfth year. Year four, five and six teams were all involved, while a girls competition comprising of 10 and 11 year-olds took place at the Arena during an entertaining afternoon of football. Kicking off back in October, more than 150 teams have taken part in the competition, culminating in Monday’s finals. Thanet Primary School edged out St Richards in the year four final, while Gillshill Primary School and Wold Primary School lifted the year five and six trophy respectively. Secretary of Hull Primary Schools FA Barry Jackson, said: “It has been a very successful competition with over a 1000 children taking part. Schools football is all about grassroots and these types of events give children the opportunity to develop their skills. It is important to remember that even the likes of Mo Diame started off by kicking a football in the school playground. “I would like to thank Mo for finding the time to come down and support the youngsters.” Read more at http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...xtra-special-2264810.aspx#cD4FxKjOrC0hsIc7.99
