Phil McNulty, BBC Sport Chief Football Writer "Took a lot of flak from Liverpool fans last week who said there was no hard evidence of Suarez diving. Waiting to hear back after today..." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19862362 Between 17.25-17.27 timeline.
I think it's to be expected that the Suarez dive gets highlighted, then all the denied penaltys over the last few months are over looked, and then inevitably all the rival fans talk about what a bad, bad person Suarez is. I think Suarez has ruined his time in the EPL for himself, now he'll get highlighted for every little thing he does. Shame really because it will ultimately drive him out of the league, if he wasn't such a good player he wouldn't be highlighted as much, and he wouldn't be booed. Just the way it is.
He's a prick. Just shows his level of professionalism that the Chief Sports Writer for the BBC baits a clubs fans like some common Internet troll. And we pay him to do it. Did he tweet about the thuggery that is stoke or like others does he describe that as "just the way they play" apparently cheating by kicking & perpetually pulling opponents to the ground is a lesser evil than diving. Are they both not exactly the same; breaking the rules to gain unfair advantage? But god forbid the BBC shows any of the journalistic class it was founded on. They're No better than a red top in their quality of writing & employees these days.
1st time I've ever seen Suarez dive. Never normally dives, just makes the most of things and is a bit of a dick head.
He does get battered mind In all fairness but he also DOES dive and playact remember Jack Rodwell getting his red card hardly touched him? thought he had been shot... Really good player that has tainted himself with the way he playacts etc
It was a pretty half hearted dive, and the appeal was half hearted too, so I think it was a desperate attempt after a frustrating afternoon where the Stoke cloggers were allowed to kick and stamp him off the park with little or no punishment. Was a bit frustrating to see him do that after doing so well this season and staying on his feet as much as possible.
Suarez is now in a position where every challenge he's involved in will be scrutinized. The fact is, he is genuinely fouled probably half a dozen times per game on average, and then spoils it by going down theatrically after a soft challenge. Everyone remembers/talks about the latter, and ignores the former. Even the BBC match report makes a point about him diving today. Everyone will be looking for it now, and defenders will be getting away with all sorts, as we saw last week. Btw, does McNulty not realise he's trying to prove people wrong from last week with something that has happened this week? Nobody has a crystal ball. Notice how he hasn't produced anything from previous games?
^This^ To be fair to the BBC reporter on the web, the dive had to be in his report as everyone was going to mention it and he did prefix it with a couple of fair points, didn't dwell on the dive, and then tailed it with a comment on the treatment Suarez was receiving Can't stand McNulty though, and good point in the fact that he has had to look for examples to support his bias this season. Really p**sed off that in a week were the real measure of Suarez has come a little more into context with the JT, AC, and RF indiscretions being discussed, that hes now given all the *ossers who would prefer not to discuss English players getting bans the perfect opportunity to change the script.
Yes he ****ing dived, and no I'm not happy that he did it, but to be quite honest... if the referee would give free kicks when they WERE necessary then I don't think he'd go looking for one. Pulis has rose tinted glasses on, he can tell Suarez off for diving, but until he stops the thuggish nature of his own team I won't be able to take what he says about tackling seriously.
Having 3 threads open all discussing how Suarez dived is ridiculous, on the back of some papers it's the main story, but yet Bale's dive isn't even mentioned at all. People screaming for Suarez to be banned, really? I mean.. Really? What about every other person that dives? There has been so many dives this season and none have been highlighted anywhere near how this one has. I'm not excusing Suarez, I literally face palmed when he done it. I just wish their was some sort of balance.
Maybe the reason Suarez is in the spotlight could have something to do with your manager only last week complaining about St. Luis not getting fair treatment. Along with your captain among others going to the rags stating he doesn`t dive.
Let's be honest mate that isn't the reason. People just love to hate Suarez, I probably would too if I didn't support Liverpool. He's the pantomime villain and people will use anything as a stick to beat him with, like I said earlier I'm not condoning his diving, I just wish every player who dives got the same treatment, or for their to be some level of consistency. As a side not - does it bother anyone else when commentators or pundits say "Well he could of down their and got a penalty"?
Yes he dives, every single team as at least one diver as you should know! However, did he really get fair treatment yesterday...?
If there is anger at this, it's pointlessly misdirected. Why hate a player who chucks himself to the floor, when there's no clear and strong ruling to prevent them? A yellow card possibly, maybe, potentially... not actually issued most occasions, is definitely reason enough for a player to exploit it, especially as these players feel permitted and indeed contracted to do everything in their power to win a game... The FA is absolutely at fault here, not Suarez and co who are just highlighting their weakness. To be honest, our FA are simply a nonsense, with blatantly non-transparent appointments of Lord and Royals to positions of prominence, and committee upon committee for forming committees... People have said it for a while, players should be retrospectively banned for a match if they dive. Would cut it out overnight. Problem is, us moaning football fans will have to channel our lust for dismay at something else! Suarez is a good player, and the diving is not what bothers me. It's the whole racism issue which was poorly handled by everyone and everything in connection with your club, especially the fans, which grinds my gears. He was in the wrong, got an appropriate punishment (for once the FA did something right), move on. But no, everyone complains and offers terrible excuses and lets it fester. Pointless!
I've heard many a tale of your moronic nature, the legend having spread far and wide across the board. Lovely to see it first hand
