Town manager Mick McCarthy has warned against taking Tuesdayâs visitors Yeovil too lightly. The Glovers, promoted from League One via the play-offs in May, currently sit fourth from bottom of the Championship, having won only their opening day fixture at Millwall. âI know Yeovil are coming and everybody thinks weâll just stuff them,â he said. âBut it doesnât happen like that, thatâs just bollocks. âAs soon as we start thinking like that weâll get shafted and Iâll be sat here on Tuesday night like a chump saying âWe did well on Saturdayâ. Donât start building all that up, it does my fruit in!â Very nicely put and I totally agree with you Mick! Top bloke, always straight forward.
There is a bit in Paul Merson's book where he describes one of his earliest matches playing for Arsenal against Man City. Merson was a kid at the time and Mick was the CB for City. Merson once got the better of Mick only for Mick to come up to him and say "Do that to me again and I'll f'kin flatten you! Don't come near me again!" And guess what... Merson didn't!
