Do any of you watch any MLS games?

Sky is showing live games this season (I dont recall them showing it last season) so I have watched a couple of games in the last 2 weekends.

Some of the players are very good. I was pretty impressed with the standard to be honest. The league have signed some big name players like David Villa and Kaka. Also Frank Lampard and Stevie Gerrard have been signed up and will eventually join their new clubs over in the USA.

I was surprised how many players that have played over here in England is currently over in USA.

Remember Andy Dorman who we had on loan a few seasons back? He was playing on Sky at the weekend for New England Revolution away at a new franchise New York City FC (who David Villa plays for). Dorman looked poor as he looked with us. His side lost 2-0. Villa scored on his home debut. Kaka score on his debut the week before against Villas team.

Im beginning to get a bit hooked on that league now and im certainly perferring that over other foreign leagues like the Spanish league, where you just point at a player and get drop like they been shot! The ref's over in the MLS let a lot of things go and let the game run like how its suppose to be. Its only been 2 weeks since their league started but I been impressed with their officials who dont get surrounded by all the players when a bad tackle happens unlike our Premier league! The ref's seem to have some sort of respect/authority from what I have seen so far.

I havent quite grasped their transfer and drafting rules yet. Do any of you understand how they work it over there?

In the NFL the drafts involves each team picking from different Colleges the team with the worst record the season before gets the first pick the team who wins the Super Bowl gets the last pick. Picks can be traded for over picks and players I think their is around seven rounds of picking I find the whole draft thing very appealing I would like to see some sort of thing in football maybe involving young players released from Premiership clubs getting picked up by lower league clubs.

I have watched it a few times but not recently would rather watch it then the god awful Premiership though  I've picked the Portland Timbers (not Seattle like I first said) as my fave team:biggrin:

Im tempted to start a career in the MLS on football manager but only thing thats put me off is understanding the transfer and drafting rules.

CJS I admire your patience in continuing to play FM2015. I have the games going back to about 2009 and 2015 is the worst game I have played. I haven't played it after the 2nd league match and I am still trying to regain some enthusiasm to try again

Check out the link in the above post it is a bit confusing I've played a save in the MLS and certain free agents you cant sign as they are still contracted to other clubs even though they are free agents.

searching for players is a lot harder and stupid. if i wanted a right back, in previous games i could easily do a search for a right back and add conditions like tackling, pace, crossing etc etc. i can then pick the best player for the conditions i wanted. however this game fm2015, you can pick a position but cant add conditions like their figures for tackling. it just gives you all the right backs and then you have to basically go through each player. very time consuming and dumb. or you can use your scouts which i do anyway as well but you have to wait ages until the scouts come back with players if they find anyone at all! in the end i gave up and just went through each teams squad and looked players in the positions i was after.

Using this formation with Portland Timbers in the MLS I've played 15 won 14, draw 1, scored 41 let in 10 all be it Portland being won of favourites to win the title. Normally I find the MLS one of the hardest leagues to chose on Football Manager. The league rules are still very confusing an example being each player has a different sort of contact then you got the draft which I sort of understand but I've yet to work out how to pick players in it.

    Here's the tactic
