The Croatian has signed a 1 year deal http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/June/PetricSigns.aspx We should be all right for penalties now.
Can't see any harm in it, no transfer fee attached. I'll be interested to see how his fitness compares to Riise. I wonder what it means for Briggs next season, particularly as he just gave this interview http://www.teamtalk.com/premier-league/7830554/Briggs-eyes-first-team-spot
I've had him on my wish list for the last 4 years, after watching him on Bundesliga TV on (the Defunct) Setanta I had him down as a replacement for AJ when he kept on being injured. Was in and out of the Hamburg team last season, so lets hope he gets back to his best, cause he was very good at assists and scoring.
I think he was referring to age not position. Riise is also 31 but runs around like a 21 year old. If Petric can do that we could be onto something.
Petric was the guy who scored that outrageous free kick against us when we played Hamburg at the Cottage. I remember him well, tricky player who is not afraid to drop off a bit, difficult for defenders to mark, but still direct as well. Great bit of business by the club, 1 yr deal to see how he settles in and on a free. Far better replacement for AJ. Just a thought, we must have known that Petric would sign if we let AJ go ( albeit he was on a free, AJ that is ), so do the club already have a replacement for Murph's ? My guess is Dembele will take his place and we will get another centre mid in.
had a difficult season at Hamburg last year....terrific scoring record. We know he can take a freekick, i hear hes a pen taker too. Welcome.
Intresting? QPR sign AJ 31yrs and we get told by you that we have no ambition? You then replace him with a...... wait for it ... a 31 old? Now that is ambition! I might put a bet on you to go down.
Surely he will be better than keeping AJ for another year... Hopefully a good signing.Glad we got a striker!
Jorden Rhodes, & Aron Ramsey, would do me nicely with Trotta & Burn thrown into the mix loverly jubbly.
Exactly! Now thats what i said about AJ coming on a free. We all know he can score if he can keep fit and exp is the key in Prem football, Fulham have proved that.
Ignore him. If we don't give him the attention he obviously craves (after all, he's on our board so often) he'll probably do one. Good signing, this, a worthy addition to the squad.
AJ's contract at QPR is two years and is likely to be on higher wages than Petric, who is also a full international. Experience doesn't sound for jack **** when your knees are made of glass.
Andrew Johnson 13 goals in 86 Mladen Petric 38 goal in 98 Who do you think has the better deal................. Dick Head
