I haven't seen it mentioned here, in all the navel gazing after the Tranmere game, but last night MK Dons lost at Oldham. Thus, barring a freak result, we will still be top after the weekend, even if we lost at Stevenage.

3 key fixtures coming up, the Sheffield Derby on Sunday, then Sheffield Utd are at Preston on Wednesday, the Preston are at Huddersfield the next Saturday. 3 hard fought draws, with lots of yellow and red cards please

As an aside, if you're talking about under achieving, we're currently 19 points ahead of Leyton Orient!

Good point killer - we have Stevenage (A), Carlisle (H), Wycombe (A) Hartlepool (A) next 4 games. With a fair wind we could have a usefull lead by November.
Would happily accept 8 points to set us up for November - Preston (H), Brentford (A) and Udders (H)
Very good result for us last night.

Yes a nice favour from oldham, well done to them. Combined with the upcoming tight fixtures/matchups, i really hope Cafc put the pedal down and keep raising the bar, as i suspect alot of fans have it in the back of their mind that we may be about to go through a lean patch.

I think this is the time to kick again, 3 points on saturday.

Yeah good point there Killer, kind of overlooked it. Did think well done Oldham last night and then did not really give it any more thought, the team that worry me the most is Huddersfield. Anyone else feel the same?

Preston and Huddersfield are the two I am most worried about.
There is no doubt in my mind that Wednesday will drop off soon.

Yeah I agree with that, I reckon they are us two years ago Wednesday will not go the distance. Preston maybe, I know they beat us in the cup but that was our second team.

I know the side we put out in the cup are pretty much acknowledged as our second team, but they did still beat us. When looking at players like Evina, Euell, Sullivan and Green (who for the best part of the season has been reduced to a cameo role in cups and the like) I don't necessarily think that there is a massive gulf in terms of quality between our 'first' and 'second' teams. When we meet in the league this season, I am going to be damn worried.

Yeah, Huddersfiled do worry me, and not just the match against them - really fancy them for the other auto spot this season.

Huddersfield run has completely been over looked by the media. 37 games unbeaten? Wow- that is an incredible achievement. We've seen at times over the past 12 games how hard that is to maintain. Just another sign that league one is ignored by the media.

I disagree with the notion that sheff weds will tail off. I think they are just finding their feet, and expect mandaric to spend in January, especially if they are near the top. Preston I'm unsure on. One half thinks they will become a Norwich, the other half says they will be CAFC from last season. Sitting on this fence hurts!

Super, I agree. Think it will be a real fight for the autos with 5 clubs vying - Addicks, Udders, Preston and the 2 Sheff.
Dont see anyone else gatecrashing the party.
Tough call to be one of the top 2.

I expect Preston and 'Udders to be up there at the end of the season. We've had a good start but if we are to get out of this division we have to keep it up, and win week after week after week. I thonk it depends on how CP uses the whole squad. With hindsight his changes against Tranmere didn't work out but I still think it was a step in the right direction.

Huddersfield have an incredible run going, but perhaps draw too many games?

Thinking back to 2 years ago, us and Leeds started really well, while Norwich got tonked 7-1 or something in their first game! Nobody would have predicted in October that they'd win the division, while Leeds would nearly miss out and we'd miss out altogether. A lot will depend on injuries, and the ability to strengthen the squad when necessary. As for our squad, while we fret about the backup players, I expect most of our rivals are in a similar situation.

im worried about Preston and Sheff Utd...dont know why though. just think Utd will win a lot of games at BL.

not worried about wednesday....cack coach, poor squad. or MK Dons.

huddersfield wont go up in autos...37 games unbeaten...and yet no promotion. drawn too much as someone else mentions. i expect them to go play offs again, lose again and clark will be out.

These people you spoke to, were they ghosts? Or blind? Green started on Saturday and looked out of sorts.....There is no need to change the front guys, they are playing well.

A target man playing attacking midfield whilst a totally unproven youngster keeps paul Hayes out of the side? I assume we'll have Popo in defensive midfield and Mambo in goal!

As well as the big names, eg Hudd Preston two Sheffs, there is always a team each year that no-one expects that does well, although maybe that team is us!
