That's a shame,I was hoping they were. Lets hope that whoever is interested, will have more passion and loyalty to the club & fans than the present owners. Good work CernyBerny.
Doesnt look like it, a West Ham fan, just what we need!!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Fernandes-buy-QPR-100m.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
"Fernandes, 47, has already been shown around Loftus Road and talked to manager Neil Warnock about transfer funds as Rangers plan for their return to the top flight." That's the most promising part of the article! Although it is the daily mail, so I'll take it with a pinch of salt!
Ecclestone ... A multimillionaire involved in motorsport who supports another team and when he failed to buy that team bought QPR. Fernandes ... A multimillionaire involved in motorsport who supports another team and when he failed to buy that team turns his attention to QPR. All we need is for Fernandes to have a scruffy orange business partner and the feeling of déjà vu will be complete. Doesn't look Russian or Arabic, does he.
Could there be more than one interested party? Maybe both Fernandes and Mordashov are interested. Could that have been the hidden message behind yesterday's announcement?
Hi all...I don't post on here very often but read many of the great comments Do you think that Fernandes could maybe our new Shirt Sponser...'Air Asia'... only reason I say that is u wouldn't stump out half your wealth for a footie team would you ? Unless he is in a consortium !
I agree Roller, looking at Fernandez's overall wealth that is just over $400 mil (250 mil GBP), pocket change to you and me, on wiki would suggest that there either is or will be someone else involved or at least I hope so. By the way there seems to be a lot of negative comments about this guy already, the term cake and eating eat it springs to mind. One question for the negsters do you want Flab and Smeegle out or what?????
Probably, although I'm not sure of the deal with Gulf Air but I expect they wouldn't mind free advertising if we wore their shirt for pre season, however a competitor of theirs would take exception to that!
Disappointed about the Mittals non-involvement in the purchase, although presumably they will hold on to their 30% share. If this goes through, what a piece of business for Eccles and Flab. The uncertainty is not great for the team though, many members of which are facing the biggest season of their professional lives.
I am also wondering that IF the sale does go through, then the new owners will only hold 69% of the shares with the Mittals holding 31%. I guess we don't know that anything is signed sealed etc, but I wonder what the possibilities of the Mttals working with the new owners are in terms of providing funds for NW?
Cerny told us yesterday on the other thread that it was mordy. Q Cerny, is it definitely mordy? A. Yes, i believe so.
Fantastic news Turbo! I hope he's right and believe he is as he has come through in the past. Not sure where this other rumour is coming from i.e. the Lotus guy. Sounds like the Daily Mail adding 2 and 2 together and getting 5 again!
It's early but that's sewn up comment of the day for me. As long as any prospective new owners aren't from Thailand I'd be happy - the one's who've tried to run EPL teams so far couldn't keep an iceberg afloat.
100% could only be done with the Mittals consent, I think, because it's a private company. So unless they're the buyers, or part of the consortium (seems unlikely), they'll take their profits and go elsewhere...
