For me this has to be our first choice starting pair moving forward. Mitro creates the space for Gayle to ghost in and with decent wingers will act as a perfect target man. I'd then bring on an AM for Mitro if he tires and switch the formation around a bit or utilise Perez. As many have said 4-4-2 plays to our strengths.
Agreed. Mitro needs to be slapped for lack of discipline, but he does do well to create space for others. Imagine if Gayle even more space? His finishing isn't always great but his runs and positioning are excellent. Imagine if he wasn't on his own all the time? Mitro could literally create more chances for the entire attacking side. Rather than relying on ****ing Harambe to try and skin everyone and fail!
Anyone else get the impression that the Norwich player in the spat with the Mad Serb only was booked because the moron in black got a message in his ear telling him too? The Moron in Black was garbage on so many levels. I was even thinking in fond terms of Trelford Mills.
Sounds like one of those American Cop Shows from the Eighties. Gayle is the striker who scores one in every 10 chances while Mitro is the enforcer who has problems figuring out where the goal is. In this week episode the pair go to Rotherham and yet again miss a hatful.
Mitro scores 2 in the first half tonight as the Serbs beat Austria 3-2 in the WCQ came off after 75mins no injuries
You can see he's so desperate to succeed that I think sub appearances are more of a problem as he's so worried about not taking his chance to impress El Jefe that he tries too hard and picks up stupid bookings etc. Starting him and giving him a few games regardless, might actually calm him down (a bit)
The problem we have is the system we play. If Rafa were to switch to a 442 then use the counter attacking formation to hold onto a lead then Mitro would start a lot more games.
Dat winning goal against Norwich, needed both of them like - Mitro dominates in the air and heads down to Gayle, Gayle weaves through Norwich defence. 2 up front needed, Perez needs to get some pitch time too, what's happened to him?
Mitrovic showed his class last night. Two goals and was causing the Austrians major problems. Gayle is a headless chicken up front by himself. Gayle and Mitrovic is similar to Shearer and Bellamy [not comparing them ability wise btw.] Mitrovic draws players to him and creates space for Gayle to run into. We wouldn't have beaten Norwich if Mitro hadn't come on. That's not a theory, it's a fact. Rafa is a world class manager, but he has got his forward line completely wrong. Diame should be dropped as he is absolute dogshit and offers nothing.
The fact that we're still linked with Alan Judge signing in Jan suggests the club are also less than impressed with Diame so far - or he's being played out of position to fill a hole. Notwithstanding that however, we do need 4-4-2 sometimes and Mitro/Gayle does look the best option available right now
