Well, I am still quiite happy that we are going to survive - it may be close but we will make it. The problem is that some are looking at the rest of our season game by game but this is not the right way to look at it because emotions just go from one extreme to the other after every result. I listed our remaining fixtures list week, here they are again:- Bristol City V Barnsley Blackpool V Bristol City Bristol City V Brighton Bristol City V Middlesbrough Wolves V Bristol City Derby V Bristol City Bristol City V Sheff Wed Burnley V Bristol City Bristol City V Bolton Bristol City V Birmingham Hull V Bristol City Bristol City V Huddersfield Charlton V Bristol City Like I said, we have to focus on the games that we have a realistic chance of winning, the first of which was today which we did, in style, not only scoring 5 but missing 4 sitters and it was great to watch until we switched off at the end and allowed them back in... Forget about next week, I don't expect anything at Blackpool, even though they are no great shakes at the moment, so a point or more would be great - however, we CAN win the following:- Boro Wolves Sheffield Wednesday Bolton Birmingham Huddersfield Charlton and if we can pick up at least a point against Derby and Burnley, THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO SURVIVE...!!!!!So I say again, provided we can do this, it doesn't really matter what happens in the other games so stop trying to micro analyse the situation to death, defeat at Blackpool DOES NOT SPELL RELEGATION AT ALL...!!!! There is another factor which kicks in about this time of year with the City which people don't factor in which is the fact that none of the players want to be in League One next year - it tends to lead to the sort of run that we see at the end of each year, i.e. 8 unbeaten last year which kept us up Today was the first example of this, get ready for some more - IN THE GAMES WE CAN WIN Got to believe people, got to believe.... I'll keep on publishing it until people get it....
I think every City supporter has more belief now than they did 2 months ago that's for sure. At last we have someone in charge who seems to know what he's doing..
'I'll keep on publishing it until people get it....' LOL. Please publish the utter drivel you came up with defending McInnes right up to his departure.
Come on Redprint, Prem is utterly correct in what he states, we have all made mistakes mate, I too was behind Del Boy as you well know, but must a agree we now really do have a superb manager & puts Del Boy in the shade, so no need to go back on comments we made about Del, you where right we where wrong, no doubt you have been wrong too at times mate, so lets not dig up passed comments, lets have no negativity on here, we are all in this together, the past means nothing, we can only look forward now because the immediate future looks fine under SO'D!!!
As I suppose most people here will remember I have been banging the drum for S O'D for years but I got behind every manager we appointed even Millen though I did say at the time he'd been appointed to the wrong club at the wrong time same with McInnis he was our manager so I got behind him, The one manager who I really disliked after he left was Coppout he left the club in a shambles that until the latter part of this season we didn't look like getting out of. I reckon S O'D will turn the club upside down and shake out all of the money wasters which will probably mean that it will be a few years before the results will show but that will be well worth the wait IMHO of course.
Possible humble pie on my menu too folks. I must confess that I did not expect to see our old sack of you know what turn things around to this degree. The people whose collective heads we were about to put on a stick and roast have somehow performed an unexpected miracle. I just could not see it happening and must confess I'm shocked but still want to ask why they couldn't do the same under previous regimes. Perhaps the answer is more obvious than I think but nonetheless it makes me wonder what goes on in the minds of professional footballers.
To be fair I admit I was behind Delboy at first - people forget quickly his miracle turnaround which kept us up last season. However, after the first couple of games it became apparent there were problems, but I still hoped he would turn things around. We looked a shambles and the confidence was clearly just not there. Absolutely delighted with Sean though - I am beginning to think we might just survive.
Cheers chaps, I fear Redprintt must be a very sad, bitter old man - never heard it have a good word to say about anything...
In all fairness Prem, you did go on about "Del is here to stay, Live with it" "It's not the manager but the **** players he's adopted or been left with" In your eyes he did no wrong and would be still here if you had your way. I can only think of 4 or 5 of us on here that thought relegation was a cert with Del in charge and a decent manager with the players in hand would make a massive improvement... I think most on here now, can see Del was in fact McUseless.....
Please be aware this is no way a prediction....one might even say JGF2 WROTE THIS!.................LOL
