Last seen in the district of Southampton in about 2016. If found, please return to R. Martin, c/o Southampton Football Club, St Mary's Stadium.

Please can someone send a message to our defenders to stop passing it around at the back. The opposition has worked out that if they play two strikers and harry our backs, all they have to do is wait for an underhit pass, pounce on it and put it in the back of the net. It's been like this for the last four years!

By all means play it out from the back when there's no-one lurking in the vicinity, but please refrain from knocking it around when the opposition has active players ready to pounce. The cats protection league already has enough to worry about without giving us all kittens!

Sometimes the players have to grow a pair and ignore the manager’s instructions.
Martin wants them to play keep ball which is okay at the right time but even the best defenders, in the best teams, know when to clear the ball long or into the stands.

I think that one player who really knows that is one that is much derided on here.

Gavin Bazunu. He will play out from the back when he can, and has a great 30-40 yard inch perfect pass on him when he doesn't. Maybe he can make that judgement as he has a full view of what is in front of him.

Incidentally, that is why I don't mind playing back to go forward. Play it back to the keeper - he can see what is going on in front of him - he is the only player that never (lol or should never) have to look behind him.

I think a good start would be to actually mark player’s when defending.

The last player to lead this type of revolt was Jose Fonte and was thrown out in the January window by Reede and Puel
