Humberside Police have released a new statement. "It’s been twelve days since Libby Squire, 21, went missing in Hull. Since that time we have had hundreds of uniformed officers and approximately 50 detectives who have been working around the clock to try and find her. So far we have had three specialist search advisors overseeing the search, nearly a dozen underwater officers take part, dog teams, support officers from neighbouring forces, teams from YorkSAR and LincsLSAR lowland search and rescue, assistance from Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Coastguard and from NPAS not including incredible support from the public and businesses in Hull. We thank you all for coming together alongside us while we search for Libby day and night. Today, our neighbourhood teams have been out around the University, Cottingham Road, and Newland Avenue areas to provide reassurance, take part in further searches and speak with people about Libby’s disappearance. We have more than ten neighbourhood patrols around these parts of the city as well as other search officers at Oak Road playing fields."
Not linked to this case, but I recall a refugee, I think from Iraq, stabbing to death his manager in a Sutton Fields food production factory, then been caught trying to get out of the country, ironically looking to get back to Iraq, were the chances of finding him would have been non-existent.
Please don't allow this thread to slip off the first page... I trust the police have conducted a thorough search of the house on Raglan Street.
From the reports in the Mail, it would appear so. The last I read was child's toys and family belongings being removed and put in a private car. If it was a family home it is unlikely the poor girl was ever there.
As a parent every time this thread has new posts I’m hoping it’s a positive update. Still keeping everything crossed for good news.
As horrible and heartless as it sounds, her being still alive may not necessarily be a good thing. That's part of what I meant about the hell the parents must be going through. How on earth people can put others through this is totally beyond me.
I know. It’s just frightening that it’s on our door step and they don’t seem to be able to find any trace of her. By any trace I mean information in the public domain. I’m sure there’ll be more information that we’re not privy to.
‘They don’t seem to be able to find any trace of her’ Similar to missing Polish woman from Kingswood:
They must have seen his car leave the street and return a certain time later so will have an idea of the radious where he could have got to and by that it dosnt seem very far. Obviously it's not 100% him but I presume they think it's very likely. I think we all know it's gone on to long and the likelihood that she is still alive is getting less by the day. You think with all the searching with modern technology and the puplic, dog walkers ect that something would have been found by now but like pro tiger has said they have never found the polish lady from kingswood. It's all very very sad and for the family i dred to think how they are coping. It's an horrendous time for them.
I've not normally upset my the news, but this has got me. I know the Police can't this disclose 99% of the information they have but it does seem a strange case. I don't like speculating, but I don't think she is in Oak Road Park, but I do believe it has vital evidence in it. Still praying for positive outcome.
I think most normal people in the area have been quite shaken by this and are following in in detail: checking for updates three or four times a day, and wishing with whatever they wish with or through for her safe return. As others have said, the horror for her parents on a minute by minute basis - or her friends perpetually dogged by "what if I had done..." thoughts. It's horrendous. Truly horrendous.
The sliding doors thing. The slightest decision, even turning left or turning right, can change the whole course of our lives.
‘I don't like speculating, but I don't think she is in Oak Road Park, but I do believe it has vital evidence in it.’ CCTV footage shows guy at his car in Haworth Street at 00,02 hours and then driving down Newland Ave at 00.19 hours. It would be interesting to know if the police think foul play has happened during that time frame which to me seems improbable if that guy was working alone. More interesting is if we knew what time he returned to Raglan Street ie. soon after 00.19 hours when the car was picked up on CCTV or if it was much. much later (eg. 03.00 hours) at the end of his illegal taxi driving shift !!!
The people on the Welly Club door were doing their job though . If a club starts letting in people who are obviously drunk and walking unsteadily the police and licensing authorities would have ready made excuse to shut them down if they didn't like the club or the way it operated.
