    Seb Larsson is out of contract in the summer and according to his agent his current situation at Sunderland is 'not optimal'. A report in the Gothenburg Post claims his lack of playing time recently is a worry and that he could look to move on in an attempt to play more regularly.

    According to Larsson's agent, Per Jonsson;

    We'll see what happens with Sebastian, nothing is clear but he needs the playing time.
    Only John O'Shea has played more minutes (1968) for Sunderland than Larsson (1840) this season and he has started 18 of 21 games in the Premier League, with his only appearances off the bench came against Fulham (a), Chelsea (h) and Man Utd (home)

    His contract is up in the summer and the club are expected to hold off contract negotiations until their Premier League future is assured, which Gus Poyet confirmed earlier in the season;

    It's not easy for the player firstly. They want to know their futures as soon as possible. Can we commit now to most of those players? No, we cannot. We don't know where we are going to be.
    So these comments from Larsson's agent, that do not tally with how much the player has actually featured, may be the first step in the player either giving himself leverage when contract negotiations start or a hint that he will look for pastures new.

    Just checked Wiki...apparently played 24 games for us this season...

    Hope his agent can find him a club. His wages don't match his capabilities which rules him out as even being a squad player in the future imo.

    His dead ball skills have all gone to pot, frankly. Impressed me with his work rate and determination, but the overall skill and delivery have been pretty average. If this agent twat wangles a move I will not be shedding too many tears.

    He will move on, be given great wages again as there is no fee involved and continue his journey.

    Larsson has overall been good for us. Put a shift in however as a dead ball specialist he has gone way back.

    He has done enough to earn a new contract but only on about half his current salary. He will move to either a newly promoted team or premiership strugglers. I think Italy would suit his game. I suppose he cost us nothing.

    It will be a good day for the club when this waste of space is removed from the wage bill.

    Don't think I've ever seen a more overrated player than this fella

    Does anybody have a list of our squad and wage bill? People seem to know a lot about who our high earners are and I honestly don't have a clue about who gets what!

    There was a list flying going about about a year ago

    If i recall correctly

    Gardner = £50k p/w
    Cuellar = £40k p/w
    Larsson = £35k p/w

    Also heard rumours that

    Colback is currently £3k p/w(hence not signing another contract until he gets a decent rise)
    Altidore = £60k p/w

    The top 3 ive seen wrote on a couple of websites, however the bottom two are just rumours ive heard

    I have no interest in any player who doesn't have the heart to play for the club in any position, in any formation, at any time they're needed for the good of the club.

    Don't believe that for one second. Utter bullshit. We've been slashing the wage list and squeezed Giacc down to 28k a week. 60k a week for Jozy? A month maybe.

    Even so Altidore opens us up to the U.S. markets has to be money being made from there

    If Altidore is on 60k per week, I would sincerely hope everybody at the club is doing everything in their power to get him out the club ASAP.

    Damn right. It's bullshit though as it contradicts completely what Ellis has been trying to do.

    Altidore would have been on £8-10k a week at AZ, if he's on 60k a week, then so am I, utter horse-**** is that.

    Funny thing wit Seb, v Fulham we were a constant threat from free kicks & corners, Seb came on, his first act a corner that hit the first man.

    He is slow, he had no determination, he cannot pick a pass, he doesn't create & he doesn't score.

    I'd offer him a free right now to free up his wages, as a Bruce Bosman signing, if anyone is on 60k a week, it'd be Seb.
