Same Spanish, if Parr is dropped he'll be very hard done by.

Mings is also a yellow waiting to happen, a couple have been for petty things like arguing with the ref / throwing the ball away.

Have to say i am surprised, as a defender i think Parr looks far more assured and what i saw of him the other day, he looked quite quick too!! Mings worries me defensively, think he gets done to easily by tricky wingers. Mings is obviously a better player going forward but i just think today we may need Parrs solidness!!

The penny still hasn't quite dropped with myself with Mings yet, I've seen him have a great performance going forward and a great performance defensively but inbetween there's also been performances in there where I've though you look like a bit of a donkey, reminded me a little of Pim Balkenstein with abit more pace, there's definitely talent there to work with but at the moment I can't see where why there is the level of hype behind him.

Parr looks pretty solid at LB and has everything you really want from a fullback, solid at the back but half decent going forwards and he keeps the shape of the team very well but saying this I did feel we missed a bit of that raw pace and enthusiasm down that side without Mings, I don't think there's much to choose between them really

Likewise Itfcptc Mings is a yellow card waiting to happen, and a stupid clearance waiting to happen also.

Parr really does look the complete full back at this level. No surprise he was left back of the year when Palace went up.

Parr is very very underrated I feel.

Well, we done ok without Mings, i have to say that if offered 10 mil for him, i would sell as he is not woeth that and money is being spent on potential, which is risky!! Saying that, i think ty could be a vg cb, which we dont need as have grt cb's already!!

    Spot on Spanish!

Odd how we're approaching January 1, and he's all of a sudden " injured " ............ With Mick talking up Clarke loads recently and St Ledger arriving.

Am I just being skeptical !?

He may well go in January.
We have a great left back in Parr anyway but it would be a shame to lose Mings. Sell with a loan back??

Selling Mings would be a big mistake, it would leave us with no decent cover across our back line, after all is his value going to be any less in the summer.? Probably not if we go up it would increase dramatically if we miss out it would probably still be around the Numbers currently being talked about!

I can see the arguments for Ty going/not starting/take the money whilst he's hot, etc.. But (God willing, lalala) if the unthinkable happened, next season we would need strength in depth much more than we do now, and being able to move established players around is way easier than newcomers. Would be a shame to see him go now only to end up not even making the opposition bench when we play West Ham, Stoke or whoever. I'd take Parr every time, given the choice but the important thing is to actually *have* that choice.

I'm very happy either way on this

    * Should Mings stay, we've got a defender constantly improving and very decent at this level.
    * Should he leave, we're going to receive a very large fee. What's more, We've shown we're capable of beating sides like Boro home and Brentford away without him in the squad! I would trust Mick to get a very good replacement in.

    Have total faith in Mick!

Personally I would prefer as little disruption to the squad this coming window as possible, we don't need the money if Mick wants some Evans can stump it up but I'd rather carry on with our bargain basement reject threadbare squad...<cheers>

Spot on Weighty, there are bound to be injuries/suspensions as the second half of the season progresses so it will be interesting what leeway MM is given to keep maintain or strengthen the squad.

Im not saying go out and try to sell him, im just saying it wouldnt be a disaster!! Think young Clarke is very highly thought of and i bet MM wouldnt think twuce about throwing him in if needed.
I think we should make an attacking signing a priority because if Murphs gets injured........ Its Sammon, Bajner or Hunt.
Think back to the Jan signing of Marcus Stewart, imo that was a master stroke and got us promoted!! If we could make a similar signing it would be fantastic and if money from Mings sale funds such a transfer, then so be it :)
