...according to the Current Bun! Take this with a huge bucket of salt but I reckon £20 Million Plus Agbonlahor and I would be happy! http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/27137/villa-linked-with-mings-and-bishop
Why would we want Gabby? Wages plus a striker who scores 1 in 4 - plus he wouldn't wanna come. They are welcome to Tyrone but I wouldn't want Bish to go cheap.... !
Villa won't have the sort of money to compete with the likes of the other teams interested. Mings will go to palace, for money plus joniesta. bish will stay here for another season at least.
I think he can be a really good player and for his first season playing professional football I feel he has done really well as he gets older he will become more consistent and savvy............ Keep them both........imo ......
Agree Weighty, if we really want to progress we must hang on to and build a team around our best young players.
" Sorry lads but having watched Mings a lot this season I just don't think he's good enough.... Yet! " Agree 100%. Has a lot of potential but don't like his body language at times. His positional play is often abysmal and he's a yellow card waiting to happen. If we could get anything over £5 mill then sell and reinvest the ££££ wisely would only be of benefit for us if we don't go up. That said, with the MASSIVE tv deal in the prem that surely gives championship clubs bigger bargaining power!
Gabby is a decent player, but I can't see him coming here, regardless of whether we go up or not. I agree that Mings is probably rated higher than he is actually worth, undoubtedly because of the media interest and the 'hype' surrounding him. However, I think we should keep hold of our young players and despite his declining form of late, Mings is a good player with the potential to be even better. The same applies to Bishop, who I rate as one of our most exciting players on the ball and again, with experience and hopefully a bit of toughening up, he can become a consistently good performer. It'd take top money for either of them to leave us, if I had my way. I'd value each of them at £15m with a nice 'percentage of next fee' stipulation, and see if any clubs are willing to bite.
I think Mings has done pretty decent for his first season full season at this level but he's nowhere near as good as the hype suggests
Agreed! The hype is mad. Look at him for Blackpool's second goal. Okay, not directly responsible but his tracking back at times is like a 85 year old walking a dog. He'll fly forwards mind you............!
Really? He's scored once, and completed 90 minutes once. Big fan of the Bish, but he's surely not worth more than £9 mill tops? I think should he stay, and us not go up, next season he'd flourish with a more passing / attack side likely under McCarthy I would imagine. Pretty sure Mick would sort the wide areas out next season.
