How far will "King" Kenny's "future Champions" finish behind Man Utd's "declining" side this season?

That club is a joke now.

They aren't even ours, Arsenals or Spurs level never mind United and City. In fact add Newcastle to that list as well.

There are about 6 or 7 clubs (at least) that are streets ahead of Liverpool. They are a midtable team now and in truth no better than Everton, Sunderland and Fulham (with all due respect)

In August, I was ridiculed for saying Arsenal would not drop out the top 4 and Liverpool would do well to get 6th.

7th now is realistically the best position they can hope to finish. That said there are 4 clubs within 3 points of them now and Fulham, Swansea and Norwich still have to play them (away as well I believe).

Liverpool finishing 10th is not unfathomable, but I predict they will finish 8th.

Asked this on the Liverpool board, what is the biggest points difference between United and Liverpool in one season? I assuming Liverpool had a pretty big gap on United in the 70s/80's.

    Ah, you've made a bored statto's evening <ok>

The biggest actual gap was 32 points in Utd's favour in 93/94, although that was a bit skewed by the fact it was a 42 game season, 3 points for a win, and Liverpool were dog **** ;)

The biggest gap thus far in a 38 game season with 3 points of a win was 31 points in Liverpool's favour in 89/90, but that record hopefully won't last much longer...

The biggest gap when it was only 2 points for a win was 29 points in Liverpool's favour in 21/22 when Liverpool won the 1st divsion and Utd finished last. Had it been 3 points for a win that season the gap would've been 43 points. So we'll have to go some to overhaul that this season, although again it was a 42 game season.

That research definitely deserves some rep.

If you guys beat QPR tomorrow then you have a 36 point lead over them with six games to go. I think you can increase it to above 43 by the end of the season. I mean, if Liverpool could not beat Villa at home, then I give them zero hope of winning any of their remaining games. That's how bad they are.

I think Liverpool could conceivably only get seven or eight points from their last six games. But not convinced we'll get 18 or 19 points from our last seven, particularly cos we'll win the league with games to spare if we do...

Your team drew with THAT Villa side at home. When that lot came to the Emirates, I swear I have not seen as bad a performance from an away side at the Emirates in seven odd years. They are dreadful. Considering what you spent and where you are, I think it's only fair to label you as the biggest failures of the 2011/12 league season. Well done.
