Pompey will look to increase the gap to the Championship's bottom three when they make the short trip up to Millwall on Saturday (3pm kick-off). A midweek victory for Derby means there are now just five points separating John Mousinho's side from the bottom three. Their next opponents look to be spending a ninth season at this level, currently occupying a mid-table position. The Lions are surely safe from the drop and are six points adrift of the final play-off spot with seven games remaining. Alex Neil is the man tasked with trying to extend their campaign beyond the first weekend of May, having replaced Neil Harris at The Den in December. They will need to find some more consistency, though, having won two of their past five games since exiting the FA Cup at top-flight Crystal Palace at the start of March. Millwall's last outing saw them narrowly beaten by promotion-chasing Sunderland in the north-east last weekend. Pompey are looking to make it third time lucky against their opponents, having already been beaten 1-0 on home soil in both the league and the Carabao Cup this term. And they lost 2-1 in the latter competition on their most recent visit to The Den in August 2021, not helped by Callum Johnson's red card just after the break. TEAM NEWS Rob Atkinson (calf), Ibane Bowat (knee), Jacob Farrell (knee), Paddy Lane (knee), Callum Lang (hamstring), Hayden Matthews (ankle) and Conor Shaughnessy (hamstring) are all currently sidelined. But Kusini Yengi is available again after missing the last game with a hamstring issue collected while on international duty. Femi Azeez (hamstring) and Camiel Neghli (ankle) are both out for the home side, who also have doubts over the fitness of Ra'ees Bangura-Williams (ankle).
