Going through my old photos last week i came across a photo of when charlton last played at the den millwalls former ground and also the new den ,as theyre are our lovely neighbours to my club i support charlton fc i wonder if any fans on here have been to millwall and what was theyre memories of that game?
I went to to the New Den quite a number of years ago for a midweek evening match (it must have been late 96 or 97). Me and my work mate didn't support Millwall or the team they were playing (I think it was York City) but it was football! We parked the car somewhere and walked through a housing estate to the ground it was not very nervy granted the bad name Millwall had. Cant quite remember the game but think York scored first and the crowd got a bit edgy but Millwall equalised before full time and 1-1 was fair and square result. After the game we was walking back to the car and got lost in the said housing estate - obviously it was quite late and there was a number of groups of men (black and white) that made finding the car quite nervy, but we had no issues and found our way after 10 mins or so. My memories of the New Den are not that great, I though it was a nice wee ground and the locals appeared reasonably friendly - almost a family atmosphere! I've never been to Charlton and hope never to go - some clubs have little history!
