http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/shocking-images-crowd-violence-breaks-5250531 don't expect any Millwall fans to be arrested except for a couple from Rotherham who failed to prevent a riot
Looks like the police rule with an iron fist at the New York Stadium, and were straight in to deal with the issue Thank goodness the Millwall supporters weren't Muslims, though. What would the plod have done then? They wouldn't have wanted to rock Rotherham's multicultural boat, after all.
Diffent approach to Humberside who let away fans do what they want and then arrest some City fans weeks later for doing next to nothing to give the impression they do something and justify the excessive numbers they have lounging about at the KC.
I remember when I went to games back at the start of the 90s I went to The Den once. At the away end there were plenty of police for us and they seemed more concerned with us shouting back at those giving us abuse than those actually starting it on their side. There was this kid giving us the finger and the police did nothing but tell us to shut up and not react. Strangely enough we were presented with sandwiches by someone when we arrived or left as some gesture of goodwill. The result I think was 2-2 or 3-3, should have won though.
That looks like a minor scuffle.. I went to the Den back in the day....Horrible place, I recall walking from New Cross road along what seemed to be an old railway line. Once inside no hassle at all. The New Den is a soulless place, built by a bloke with a dodgy meccano set.
Shocking? The pictures depict two groups of people eyeballing and yelling at each other. I was expecting to see blood, spittle, and glass flying. But then again that wouldn't shock me either, considering it's Millwall.
There was some horrific pointing going on there. I hope counselling is going to be offered to fans affected by this? On a side note the kid in the white/cream jacket and black polo looks dapper as ****.
I sincerely hope the bloke in the flat cap and chequered scarf got seriously twatted.....Flat caps and scarfs at a football game...Err.. just a minute...
The old guys at Millwall who end up at the front pointing and gesticulating but never breaking through the flimsy cordon remind me of Angry Frank.
