Sadly, I can see this happening. We all wanted him to become the player we all thought he would but something has gone wrong for him. You could say the wheels have come off the Waghorn.
And Bolton!? I would be sad to see him go, but might be best for both parties... I really like Waghorn, and when he was given a run in the team early on this season he was on fire. If he plays every week, he will be a real asset in this league.
I don't mind if he goes tbh, Waghorn, Vardy and Futacs are all surplus strikers atm, no matter how much we like any of them, they wouldn't be in anyones starting 11.
when he was injured he spent so long bulking up in the gym that he lost all his explosive pace. would be an ideal fit for wolves.
Seems Leicester's procurement policy of paying players double what they're worth is kicking them in the FFP butt
Waggy isnt a problem in the slightest Yes we over paid for him but that was 3 years ago. Had he carried on his form when he was on loan it would have been money well spent
Waggy will be a success where ever he goes All he needs is a decent run in the team and he will play at the level we seen him before christmas. Waggy is more then capable of scoring 10 to 15 goals a season
Don't think the argument of him needing to be in a starting 11 stacks up. Every team needs able deputies if the number ones fall over for whatever reason. Think it would be a shame if he were to move on as he still has plenty of development left in him.
If you give Waggy are starting spot for a number of weeks he will perform very well. His first few performances will be a little misfiring but after that you get performances like we seen when he was on loan. His performance against Derby this season was one of the best we have seen from a player in a City shirt in a long time. Waggy is very similar to Matty Fryatt. If you give then a bit part role they struggle for form and they dont really contribute. If you put them in the team every week you get a striker full of confidence capable of scoring goals and playing very well for the team. Neither are any good off the bench or in and out of the team. We seen the best from Matty when he knew he was playing next week regardless, I think the same goes for Waggy. Thats why moving to someone like Millwall will favour him as he knows once he gets the shirt he stands a better chance of keeping it and performances will come with that. I still think Waggy will make a very good footballer but he might lack the cutting edge in terms of finishing. He is very hit and miss on that front
Saw him at Grace Road last Friday with all the other players. He looks like he's lost a lot of weight, would be a good buy @ £500k.
Blackburn now being linked I seriously think selling Waggy will bite us in the bum. Alot more then Beckford
Is there another Martyn Waghorn at Leicester City that I've not seen play yet? The one I've seen has the first touch of a wrecking ball, the composure of a weeble wobble and I'm not even mentioning his shooting! Fact is he's lost his speed due to being more like a bodybuilder than a footballer - bye Waggy all the best for the future and if they want Whitbread I'll deliver him - we got him on a free and were still ripped off!
His delivery has improved a lot recently though, and he still has aggression. I still think he's a very good option, and at 22 (?) he's still young enough to improve. I'll be incredibly frustrated if we get rid of Waghorn and keep Vardy.
