Needs must ....our line up at Luton is going to be even thinner than @Beware of the Virus pay packet from the charity shop.

I would start Albie Morgan in midfield ahead of either Deji or Alfie.

 

starting Albie instead of Deji would require a formation change to 4-1-4-1

 

I'd have him in ahead of Leko. Keep Deji and Alfie. We finished the Saturday game strongly without Leko off and Albie and Alfie on.

 

Albie & Alfy ...not being watched by Elfy.

I was at the 7-1. We were lucky to get away with 7-1. A kind ref and some great saves by Wood in goal.

 

Now Charlton are in the bottom half of the table, it's time for those of us who dared to hope for better things to stop looking up towards the play-off places, and begin to chalk off the points needed to avoid relegation as we get them.

48 to 50 points are usually enough for survival. So that's 25 to 27 points needed from our remaining 29 games.
Barnsley are already cut adrift at the foot of the table, but there are still two other places in the drop zone, and no other obvious candidates to go down now that Stoke have begun a revival - perhaps except Luton, if we can beat them tonight.
I don't really think Reading, Wigan, Blackburn, Huddersfield or Middlesbrough are more likely relegation fodder than we are. Of those teams, only Wigan are in poorer form than us over the last 5 games.

Time to start watching their results a bit more closely, and hope we can stay above that bottom quarter of the table for as long as possible.

Maybe we need a few decisions to go our way and the rub of the green, to help us get a result.

 

Bowyers ‘options’ tonight are as limited as imaginable. Other than playing Naby Sarr up front, he’s literally got no cards left to play.

God help us if we pick up another injury during the game ...he might ask Grant Basey to take to the field.
