He's banged in 28 in 36 on my Rotherham FM11 game so he must be ace.

sign him up.. proven goalscorer in the lower leagues. do you think burnley regret signing Austin from swindon town ? very much doubt it.

400k is nothing, get it done ! :)

We've got a proven goalscorer in the lower leagues. Most of you probably spent all summer slagging him off. Aaron McLean.

    Goals Scored

    Mclean; posh

    07/08 - 29
    08/09 - 17
    09/10 - 7
    10/11 - 10

    Le Fondre; roch/roth

    07/08 - 16
    08/09 - 18
    09/10 - 26
    10/11 - 24

and keep in mind that mclean had mackai-smith to play off, a very good partnership but we all know who is the better player...

id go for le fondre over mclean

Well we certainly do need another striker, why not Le Fondre ? It's always a gamble signing any player (think Torres).
Not that many options spring to mind on our budget. Sign him Nige !

You're comparing one player in the Championship/League One, with the scoring rate of someone in League Two, hardly an accurate comparison.

depends how you look at it OLM. defence in L1 & L2 is at a similar standard in my opinion. i wanted to point out that le fondre is a consistent goal scorer in the lower leagues. better than mclean and austin were.

all im saying is we obviously dont have much money to spend but we need another goal scorer at the club. 400k is a ****ing snip

problem is i don't think we'll be the club interested... and we all know what happens then. he'll go somewhere else and we'll cringe every time he scores, thinking "if only".

If only we'd have got thr right Mac from Peterborough in the first place!

Having said that, Brighton do play a passing game and have spent money elsewhere in their team too.

I still think if our forwards had a decent midfield behind them they'd be fine!

For all those people making comparisons, Im pretty sure Steve Morison came from Stevenage (who were in the conference at the time where he was banging them in) to Millwall and is now playing Prem football with Norwich!

    2006–2009 Stevenage Borough 127 (68)
    2009–2011 Millwall 83 (35)
    2011– Norwich City 1 (0)

Le Fondre is definitely worth a gamble at 400k!

exactly. you can add many others to the list too, Norwich's Holt for example.

Grant Holt has had a seriously weird career, it's as if he could really be arsed until the past couple of years. :emoticon-0112-wonde

i don't care what league he's in as long s our coaches analyse him properly and see if he can cut it. It's a gamble worth taking but to be honest I don't see how we can bring another striker in without getting rid of one. 5 is too many for a club like us. We don't want players getting pissed off on the bench.
I'm not sure who'id get rid to be honest. I like mclean, i like what he brings... he doesn't score much but he's had a couple good chances and more importantly seems to create some. Not sure about simpson. He will probably bang goals in eventually for some club, whether it'll be us who knows.

I think NP needs to stick the same formation and strike force for a bit now and see how it goes.

I remember us playing well with the 3 up top together but otherwise i'd give mclean and simpson a go together.

Nige has already said we're bringing in another striker and it will almost certainly be Simpson who's on his way.
