According to Geoff Twentyman on Twitter, he's going to be interviewed for the job! @geoff20man: I understand former #bristolcity #BCFC boss Keith Millen is to be interviewed for the vacant Gillingham job. Dunno who else is in for it. Nice guy, good number 2,crap manager,God help Gillingham.....
Good lick to him if he gets it, would be better for him to start in the lower leagues if he wants to be a manager
Good luck to him because he took over at some very difficult times and under second choice scenarios. Show them Keith.
Some people just aren't football managers in my opinion, and sadly Keith, a real ashton gate legend, falls in that category for me along with our beloved brian tinnion. I like to be proved to wrong though, so if he gets it, good luck to him. He reminded me a lot of steve kean, no plan b, no real proper respect as a manager from his players, no idea how to handle the press, always the same excuses with no real changes the following week. Should get back to coaching the youth I think Keef!
I think he could well make it as a manager, to be fair, im not trying to make us sound good here but he took on an incredibly big club, where he was out of his depth, maybe at a lower league team where the expectation is no where near the standard it is at ashton gate he could make a name for him self Would like to see if he mentions us if appointed
I think he was a big prat as our manager but a nice bloke, good number 2,bad,very bad number 1 for us......who knows what the future might hold,an ex-City manager is in charge of England...
Millen would have never succeeded with us. He never had the funds, he was part of an old and familiar regime and quite frankly he never stood a chance with the fans. Gillingham is a fresh start for a guy that deserves it, and a second chance to show what he can do as a manager. It wouldn't surprise me to see them do well.
Some people seem to think everything is black or white, either you hate him or you liked him. I had no expectation other than for him to keep us from being relegated at the start of last season, as I think he had an incredibly tough task to get anywhere near the playoffs. However, he ran out of ideas, and more importantly than losing respect and backing of the fans, he lost it from his own staff and players.
Good luck to Milly - a decent guy and at the end of the day that's what matters Just for the record he was loyal to our club when we needed him - yes results were bad (and he had to go), but let's hope it works out for him
