I've just read a story on the Sky Sports website about Milan Jovanovic. It says he regrets his move to Anfield and basically he wants a move to either Germany or Italy in the summer. He also says that he thinks if Rafa was still at the club things would be different. I do feel sorry for the lad. He was brought in as a striker and hasn't really been played as a striker. I suspect he'll be off in the summer without a proper chance to prove himself because of the arrivals of Suarez and Carroll in the January transfer window. Here is the link- http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6886363,00.html Your thoughts?
Meh, the words "headless" and "chicken" came to mind after I watched him play a few times. Never going to get a look in if we strengthen further in the summer so not surprised to hear that he wants to leave. I heard we were trying to offload him in January?
he just isnt good enough, when we were going to buy him people said he would struggle in the prem and they are right.but i would say in the games he played his work rate was good, but he is no dirk is he.
Wouldn't say more than 2-3 mil if we sell him back to a german/dutch team. Less than that if we sell him anywhere else.
He was brought in at a time when we had no money and i'm pretty sure Rafa would have got more out of him then hodgson/kenny have. Jova (Like Cole, Poulson, Koncheskey & Jones) represent Liverpool before the ownership change and it wouldn't suprise me if he goes (and quite cheaply too)
Kenny said he was good against Blackpool and got into great positions but just never got the service. At the time free was all we could afford. He almost walked away from the deal because of the turmoil. I've suspected since then that Purslow offered him the mighty wage he's on so we didn't have the prospect of freebies turning us down due to the state of the ownership. Ditto Joe Cole, whom the entire country was calling for in the World Cup so Jovo's in good company. He might've worked out better under Rafa because Rafa knew what he saw in him that he could use. But like Voronin he doesn't seem to have made much attempt to settle, complaining that nobody here speaks Serb. Well, duh.
If we could get ã2-ã3 million for him, take both hands. And tell him to bring Poulsen,Konchesky and E Zhar and Degen with him.
Yeah, the general feeling about Jovanovic isn't too good. He will be off in the summer along with the other fringe players (Poulsen, Degen, Konchesky etc.) I did read a story that Jovanovic a chance to move to Wolfsburg in the January transfer window. We accepted a ã6M bid but the player rejected it and decided to fight for his place. Now, I would take ã6M in a heartbeat. We'll probably get about ã4M for him now. I still sort of feel sorry for him.
ã4 million would be great business, seeing as we got him on a free.If we could get ã4-ã5 million for Joe Cole too, that would be a decent amount going into the transfer kitty. The strong reports suggest that Liverpool won't settle for less than ã16 million for Aquilani. Now theres a ã25 million start in sales.
Better than N'gog but still terrible. The quicker we sell the negative players the better. I think our turn around of form shows what a negative impact having a player who doesnt want to be there in the dressing room. i.e. Torres. I remember on 606 having a chat with a few fans who were saying Caragher and Gerrard had clearly fallen out with Torres as you could see with their body language. It was true, when he scored Gerrard/Carra never went over to congratulate him like they used to. I'd love to know more about the fallout. Anyone got any info?
Bowforfowler. I wrote an article on this a while back. John Henry was quoted as saying that ''Things have improved since ''He'' left.He never elaborated on who ''He'' was.But the reports I read were that he wasn't refering to Roy Hodgson.Okay his reign was pretty much a disaster. But in all fairness he was out of his depth and pretty much a dead man walking,as FSG didn't appoint him.But he for his failings, left the club in the way he joined, with dignity and class. He's a top bloke in my book but not Liverpool managerial material. I said at the time I felt JWH was refering to Torres. He in the last while did have an unsettling influence on the dressing room.He turned into a sulky so and so.It seems nothing has changed,as Chelsea have 3 sulks instead of two. They have added Torres to Didier Dogbreath and Le Sulk. The atmosphere seems to have changed since ''El Nono'' left.
bowfowler I heard about that too! Him and Gerrard seemed a lot less close towards the end. You hear the reports about Torres leaving training crying after he handed in his transfer request because of an argument he had with Gerrard and Carragher?
Torres faced the embarrassment of being forced to train by himself.Kenny didn't want him near the rest of the squad.Kenny was furious with what he did.Kenny said that no player is bigger than the club.Torres was told in no uncertain terms to close the door on his way out.Or in less polite terms,**** off you sulky spanish ****.
Was Kenny really furious? He had looked disillusioned at liverpool for ages so it can't have been much of a surprise.
Yeah he was furious.Thats the reason why Torres was forced to train by himself. For someone that has completed his ''dream-move'' He doesn't look very happy. There is a rumour going round that the reason why his transfer took so long to complete, was John Terry had to agree terms with Torres' wife.
Now thats funny. She also faced the embarrassment of getting photos of Ashley Cole in his jocks. The last time he sent a bird pictures of himself in his jocks,It cost him a fortune...in the divorce courts. His tone deaf ex wife stung him for a fortune.
