AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has claimed he has sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris St Germain.

The Milan stars would move to the big-spending French club in a €62million deal (£49m).

PSG sporting director Leonardo had earlier confirmed that talks were set to take place with Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola on Thursday.

And Berlusconi has told the Italian media that both the Swedish striker and Brazilian defender will be leaving the club as part of cost-cutting measures at the San Siro.

"Yes, I have sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG," Berlusconi is quoted as saying in Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We save €150m over two years."

If they Euro 62m for the players then they must be saving Euro 88m.
Even if you split the wages equally between the two players that's Euro 22m for each player per year.
I can't see either player being on that!

Still cheaper than Liverpool paid for Carroll and Henderson.

Old story, but the Mags knew Liverpool were selling Torres for £50 and when a £30m bid for Carroll turned up they rejected. Newcastle were set to ring back later that day and say they had changed their minds but Liverpool beat them to it and added another £5m to it.

Ibra is on 12m a year. I reckon it's a decent deal for MIlan, they're under massive restructuring releasing Nesta, Inzaghi, Gattuso, Seedorft et al, saving huge amounts on salary and have lowered the age of their squad to 27 now which is massive considering about 2 years ago it was 32. And speaking of Carroll, I can see him being loaned to Milan as Ibra's replacement.

Unless there's another dimension, or a parallel universe, there's no way Carroll would ever replace Ibrahimovic.

I wasnt suggesting Carroll is as good or even a similar player as Ibra. I'm Ibra's biggest fan, even when it was fashionable to slate him cos he "never performed against English teams" - Andy Townsend, or MoN claiming "he's the most overrated player in the world", conveniently forgetting the way he destroyed Arsenal at the Emirates for Barca. Prior to this year he won the league title 9 years running and you dont do that through luck.

Back to my point, and Milan are signing platers on loan or Bosman's only at presentk, that's Adriano Galliani's stated policy and Carroll must be one of the most expensive players in the world currently being touted for loan. That was all I meant. Plus I reckon he'd gel with Cassano.

Could be clauses as well. Additional transfer fees for Milan to pay after so many games for them that they now won't pay. They could be due loyalty payments in that time, although usually they still try to claim those unless they've asked for a transfer.
