So who's this Miku fella we've been linked with? Some Spanish guy to challenge Graham and comes from Getafe is all I knows.

MICHAEL Laudrup is set to complete his third Swansea City signing by landing Michu in a £2 million deal.

The Spanish star was at the Liberty Stadium for a medical last night and his cut-price switch from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano should be finalised at some point today.

Swansea look to have pulled off quite a coup by landing a player who scored 17 goals from midfield — including 15 in the Spanish top flight — last season.

A host of clubs were reported to be interested in the 26-year-old, with Manchester United among those who are believed to have tracked his progress.

But Swansea look to have beaten off the competition for Michu's signature by putting £2 million on the table.

Rayo are currently in administration, hence a player who was being valued in the £8 million bracket not long ago is now poised to arrive in Wales for a quarter of that price.

Michu, real name Miguel Perez Cuesta, has returned to his native Spain but is due to meet up with Swansea's squad on Sunday before they fly out to America on pre-season tour. The 6ft 1in player started out with home club Oviedo before moving on to Celta Vigo.

He stepped up to the highest level in Spain 12 months ago and excelled in a Rayo jersey.

Michu is viewed by Laudrup as a player who can fill the void left by Gylfi Sigurdsson, who netted seven goals from an advanced midfield role after arriving on loan at Swansea last January. Swansea had been poised to

Saw this earlier , got to be a good sign that he looks a bit like Ronaldo . Is it me or does it appear that Laudrup & Larsen had a wish list the moment they came on board . These guys seem to know exactly who they want & how to get them quickly , never seen so many quality players come in in such a short period of time . It's seems somewhat obvious now that players want to sign for this manager .

 

Some very healthy competition in our squad if this comes off and Allen stays. Who do you start out of Britton, Allen, de Guzman, michu and maybe Mark Davies? Miku and graham to battle it out... 1 more defender and I think we're all set for the season (assuming these deals come off).
