Of course he is. The Newcastle fans love nothing more than a scapegoat.

This is the man that has them the most financially stable they have ever been. They finished about 10th, last season. That's as a high as a club like Newcastle, can finish. They done the same with Sir Bobby Robson, they hounded him out too. They always think the grass is greener....

Ashley did what he does with businesses, which is buy up failing, financially troubled brands and turn them around.
The problem is that he also applied his other standard, which is to cheapen the product and slash costs.
It was something that had to be done at Newcastle, barring a super-rich owner, but his PR has been shocking.

As for politicians having a shot at him, if they don't like what he's done, then change the ****ing rules.
They've got no intention of doing so and this is just their way of making it look like they give a ****.

“You fat cockney bastard, you ruined our club”. I wonder why they sing that?

Wouldn’t want that ammoral lowlife bag of **** anywhere near my club, thanks. And nothing would induce me to give a penny to his sweated labour businesses either.

    Okay, mate <ok>

He's kept that club afloat and one season they were relegated, they spent about 80 million. That wasn't his fault, yet he got the blame. He's made mistakes at times, but overall he's got a raw deal from the fans, imo.

His off the record piss ups with staff are somewhat legendary - he picks the bill up for everything that goes down

Top lad. I like people who don’t give a **** about doing ‘the right thing’. The very least a billionaire deserves is the right to brag.

I don't think he does brag though, it was unfortunate that his own security asked him to empty his pockets. If he saves HOF btw, then he does deserve a pat on the back..

I had seen that interview and absolutely disagreed with him. I get fed up with this argument that the internet killed the High Street's! It didn't help but what killed the High Street was the large out of town shopping centres. If the internet was too blame, then why is places like Bluewater absolutely rammed this time of year - it's because it's undercover, and more convenient, especially with free parking and food courts. The High St has been left for the lower class, that can't afford a car or the more upmarket prices. Basically it's a form of social cleansing, creating for the have's while deserting the have not's by the retailers with the exception of a few ie Primark. Of course the internet does have a massive impact but to put the emphasis on it the way he has is a cop out. We are supposed to be in a world where we are worried about climate, yet we encourage people to jump in cars to travel miles out of town. Retailers have got greedy too, more convenient for distribution if stores are directly off motorway networks. Some councils are trying to encourage rebirth of shopping areas, but even so, it still tends to move away from the Hight Street itself to retail areas ie cinema, eating places. I could be wrong, but wasn't some government legislation put in place some years back to prevent places like Bluewater being built again, to prevent the impact they were having on areas?

If someone suddenly gets 5k out their pocket regardless of security, i'd think it was either counterfeit, money laundering or tax evasion, let alone other criminal possibilities. I know the US have a restriction of $10k on cash on entry, when then you have to supply documentation where it came from. Even if he attempted to deposit that in a UK bank it would come under questioning.

Would it **** ya mong he’s a billionaire ffs. SAR’s are only raised by banks if it is an unusually ‘suspicious’ deposit.
