No he isn't. There's enough quality to do it if we bring in a quality left back and another new striker.

    Krul
    Coloccini
    Taylor
    Barton
    Tiote
    Cabaye
    Ba
    Ben Arfa

All good enough for a top 10 team.

    Coloccini
    Barton
    Tiote
    Cabaye (possibly)
    Ben Arfa

All good enough for a top 7 team.

    There's plenty of quality still.

You say that but our defense is going to be very poor this season and if Collocini and Simpson get injured we are well ****ed.

Only thing missing is another quality striker.

He sells some of our our best players from last season and refuses to give us transfer money yet he expects a better finish that last year?

He's spent £13 mill this year on Obertan, Cabaye and Ben Arfa, and that doesn't even include the signing on fees for Ba or Marveaux.

If he buys another decent left back and decent striker, Ashley could well end up spending £20mill+ this year on new players. Funnily enough that's not far off what most people predicted he would spend when we were deciding how the £35mill would be used.

  9. If we want to finish in the top 10 then we need to hold on to all of our current players and we need to buy a quality striker and a quality LB.

Another RB wouldn't go a miss either.

I'm sick of Mike Ashley expecting results by the cheapest options. If he wants this club in the top 10, he should give us some cash to spend.

So he has spent around £13 mil of the £45 mil we have got from player sales, thats not good enough. If he buys a decent LB, a RB who can tackle, a pacey striker who will bang in the goals and LB cover, all without selling anyone else then I would be happy. We still have £32 mil left for 4 players so there is no reason not to do it. I don't want none of this bollocks about wages, signing on fee, agent fee, under soil heating, training ground updates etc all of them come out of different budgets not the transfer fund! Where's the money from TV rights, ticket/shirt/pie sales etc, money awarded for where we finished in the league, the yearly investment from the owner. Where is all that?

I'm not saying it's fair based on income and expenditure, but by the end of the window we could see him spending £20mill+, which is a lot more than most.

It's just a shame that a lot of this is being spent on replacing existing players.

And you're wrong about them coming out of different budgets. Signing on fees and agent fees come out of the transfer kitty, because they're transfer expenditures, and they run into the many millions. Let's not also forget the wages some of these players will be on.

I don't condone Ashley and his spending this season, but it's wrong to say that we haven't been given any money. A lot of the lower EPL teams would even be chuffed to spend £5mill on one player.

Fair enough but surely we should have kept the players we sold and signed more to add squad depth. Marveaux, Obertan (as long as Barton doesn't leave) & Abeid were signed to add squad depth but Ba and Cabaye are replacements. We should have been signing a LB to add squad depth but now we will be signing one as a replacement. I just don't agree with weakening a squad then adding players to get it back up to it's original strength. I think we should just add strength to the squad without weakening it first. This way we will make greater and faster progress.

We have absolutely no chance of top 10 this season, unless of course we sign 3-4 top draw players by the end of the month.

That's ok. Moral might be pretty low in the Arsenal camp and we might just surprise them.

We have the squad to get top 10 if Pieters joins, we have the depth in areas too, so it's not unrealistic. It all depends on Pardew's tactics and formations now as well as the players stepping up.
