Our former central defender Miguel Llera is joining Brentford on an initial one month loan deal. Could we see him in the Paint Pot game at The Valley ?
i never forgive parkinson how he forced out this player ,parkinson shunned him to youth team made train on his own and i met llera a couple times said sorry way pp treating you he said the man is a pxxk
he came across friendly bloke gave one old lady his charlton top outside signed as well i think his fall out parkinson didnt like the spanish simple as that
lol Llera is one ex-Charlton we can rest assured won't score against us, would expect us to stick a few past Brentford given Llera was probably at his best dealing with route one football, which he wouldn't be facing against us
a nice bloke friendly towards everyone he met i just cant understand what parkinsons tiff with him was!!!!your right he end up scoring against us you watch especially from a corner
Did he say it in Spanish to you ? Pito, does'nt really translate does it. Suprised that Llera picked that bit of English up. Personally I thought Llera played a bit like Bambi on ice. Never really rated him myself, Morrison and Taylor are much better players.
Swindon boxing day 93rd min.......he scored then didnt he and takes a decent free kick wouldnt say he`s no threat to be honest
Maybe they had a falling out over the Gibralter constitution? I know Parky is a scholar when it comes to the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht. I often disputed 'in perpetuity' with Parky over a glass of Chivas Regal and cream-soda.
He did indeed Miketyson, now fast forward to a game against the same opponents in a play-off game when we were cruising at 2-0 against ten men and we had Wembley and Millwall in sight. He foolishly got himself sent off and the rest is history.
to be fair to Llera he tried his best with limited talent and I have to say he did do the right thing in bringing the Swindon player down as they were about to score until Llera's almost rugby-tackle stopped them lol the thing that let Swindon back in that game was the team bombing forward for a 3rd goal and Bailey's pass giving the ball away, there was no need for the team to bomb forward and leave themselves exposed on the counter attack as such happened to get them back in the game. he'd get an applause from me but still wouldn't see him as a threat.
Rifleman, as the old saying goes 'he took one for the team'. I'm pretty sure we only had a one-goal lead and that the oppo striker was one-on-one with the keeper. His goal in the last minute against Swindon in the league was one of my favourite goals since relegation from the Prem.
No,No, No WeWant, if you could see it again you would see that Llera gets the wrong side of the player, then has to bring him down. If he had stayed goalside there would not have been a problem. Agree his goal in added time against Swindon on Boxing Day was memorable. I have no axe to grind with Llera just thought he was not good enough for us.
Fair enough Rifleman, you may be right, it was a while back and the memory of that day is still a painful one for me to think of so I may be wrong.
When you see the super skillful Spanish teams, and the brilliant Barcelona midfield, it's reassuring that Spain also produces decent, honest, but not very talented players too...
Always tried his best for us and i believe he was better than daily and doherty when he played last season. Always a threat from set pieces, i would be scarred of him from corners if Ben Hamer is in goal. He frightens the life out of me!
I'm with Belvedere (and MT [but sadly not Franco]) on this, as I truly believe Miguel Llera was the best CB at the club last season. They were all pretty terrible so it may not sound like that much of an achievement, but he provides a great attacking threat, whilst being defending in the air (though sadly, not so great on the floor), and took a decent free kick too.
It's official - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14835920.stm Good luck to him - although obviously not against us...
Can't imagine Blackpool's fans are too chuffed by all this. Spending wages on a 32 year old who they have had for a month and now sending him out on loan. Bad business from Holloway - think he's realised a little too late!
