The lad takes some stick for his distribution but I think he has come on leaps and bounds this season and week after week is keeping us in games and earning us points with fantastic saves like yesterday and at West Ham with the Nolan save. He's still young for a keeper and if he can keep developing will be one of the best in the league for years to come. He also could be a big player for Belgium who have a very exciting young team emerging for the 2014 world cup.
He has been our best player so far this season. I actually feel sorry for Westwood, as he is a class keeper too.
yup love the kid he's much better then gordon for me aswell.. and he was rolling it out yesterday and not just banging it up field top class.
He gets better every half a game the lad, I swear it. That save yesterday was seriously top drawer, the ball across at pace had him out of position, and Kone made a clean connection, it was a stunning save. I love Mig, and hope he's number, erm, 22, for a long, long time. If he hasn't had a new deal (I can't recall, anyone??), he needs one, as I'm sure he was only on about 8k a week initially. You can see the confidence in the lads face, he now rollocks defenders for leaving gaps, all signs of developing into an all round keeper. Mark my words, people will be watching the lad, 2 weeks in a row he has made the impossible happen, he is the best since Sorensen, by a mile, and easily has the potential to surpass him. Sorensen, to make my point, is comfortably the best keeper we have had in my time watching the lads, and an absolute idol of mine for that penalty save. I'm gonna leave it there, cos I'm sounding a bit gay for the lad....
Have always been happy with his game he is there to keep the ball out of the net for me and if he has nothing to aim at with a throw (90% of the time in previous games) he has to kick it. First a Bramble well done now Mignolet we'll be running out of scapegoats soon.
Agree mate. Sorenson at his peak was one of the best all round keepers in the premiership. I also rated Gordon highly as a shot stopper but I think mig has surpassed him. Didn't see the game yesterday but glad to hear he's not just booting it up to the opposition anymore. Get him a new contract Martin!
I've sang his praises from the minute I saw him play...He has the potential to become a Sunderland legend..
He is turning into a top, top keeper! Could be our best ever. He's getting plenty of practise at the moment. Looks like he's up to the task though. Who signed him? I honestly can't remember
