Liverpool have a tricky game away to Wigan on Wednesday.Wigan always play better against top team. I cannot see Liverpool not scoring against them, and no team has scored more than once against Liverpool this season after we lost to Tottenham Caution, teams fighting relegation are very difficult to play against,Wigan would not like to be bottom of the table on Christmas day. My prediction.Wigan 1:3Liverpool. Other fixtures and predictions: Tuesday, 20 December 2011 Wolverhampton v Norwich 2:2 Blackburn v Bolton 2:1 Wednesday, 21 December 2011 Aston Villa v Arsenal 0:1 Man City v Stoke 2:1 Newcastle v West Brom 2:1 Everton v Swansea 1:1 Fulham v Man Utd 1:2 QPR v Sunderland 1:1 Wigan v Liverpool 1:3 Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea 1:2
Aston Villa v Arsenal 0-2 Man City v Stoke 3-0 Newcastle v West Brom: 1-1 Everton v Swansea 1-2 Fulham v Man Utd 0-1 QPR v Sunderland 1-1 Wigan v Liverpool 0-2 Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea 3-1
Aston Villa v Arsenal 1-2 Man City v Stoke 3-0 Newcastle v West Brom: 3-1 Everton v Swansea 2-2 Fulham v Man Utd 0-2 QPR v Sunderland 2-3 Wigan v Liverpool 0-1 Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea 2-2
Agreed, for some reason, we seem to let our levels drop against the “lesser” sides, however if we show the same mentality of late, then I believe we’ll come away from the DW with 3 points (which is a must!) “..no team has scored more than once against Liverpool” almost, we did let in 4 against Spurs.. but we were down to 9 men and only then did they manage to bag the extra goals. I’ll go with.. Tuesday, 20 December 2011 Wolverhampton v Norwich, home win, 2-1 Blackburn v Bolton, Both teams are dire, especially so at the back, can see it being a high scoring game, 3-2 home win. Wednesday, 21 December 2011 Aston Villa v Arsenal, Villa were horrendous against us but they could have Agbonlahor (sp?) and Bent back, however, even though they lost, Arsenal looked decent going forward against City, 2-1 away win. Man City v Stoke, Stoke will come and park the bus but I think Stoke’s large defenders will be given the run around by the City’s forwards, sorry Stoke fans, home win, 5-0 Newcastle v West Brom, Home win, Woy’s teams are hopeless away from home! 2-0 Everton v Swansea, Everton don’t have anyone to put the ball into the back of the net, Swansea play some nice football, away win for me here, 0-1 Fulham v Man Utd, Sorry, everyone may have been gushing with ManU’s performance against QPR but they still got at them, not often enough mind but that defence with Evans and Evra wouldn’t inspire me with confidence if I were a ManU fan. I think Fulham will give them more of a test than QPR did, draw for me, not sure if is 0-0 or 1-1, I’ll predict the latter. QPR v Sunderland, QPR are better away from home and Sunderland are hopeless away from home (still draw with us though, jammy Bleeps!!) something’s gotta give? No? I’ll go scoring draw, 2-2 Wigan v Liverpool, Will Wigan be the side that gets that “spanking” from us? Or will they play a blinder and nic something from the game? Just hope we turn-up with the right mentality, all points must be earnt! Heart saves 2-0 away win. Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea, these two along with Arsenal are our competition for 3rd and 4th, so the prediction will be more biased towards a preferred result for LFC, would take a draw or even a Chelsea win, Spurs are without Lennon and Bale is a doubt? If that’s true then that takes away quite a bit of Spurs potency up front, Chelsea drew with Wigan and to be
Lawro's Verdict Wigan 1: 2 Lioverpool Wigan v Liverpool Chelsea took the lead against Wigan and played as though it was going to be an easy victory. In fairness to Roberto Martinez, he changed the way they were playing, altered the personnel after the goal and deservedly got a point. Due to the big clash at the bottom of the table between Blackburn and Bolton, the spotlight will be taken away from Wigan. Liverpool are looking good at the moment and will get great support at the DW Stadium, but this is the type of game where the Reds know they must win to have a chance of finishing in the top four. It all depends on Luis Suarez and the outcome of his FA charge as to how Liverpool will do in this game. Prediction: 1-2
My predictions... Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs Norwich City: 2-1. Despite Norwich's good form, I think Wolves will win this. Wolves are at home and I think Steven Fletcher will produce the goods for Wolves. Norwich to get a late goal to put the pressure on but Wolves will hold out. Blackburn Rovers Vs Bolton Wanderers: 0-1. This game is massive for both sides. Bolton have been poor this season apart from a couple of games (5-0 win against Stoke & the 4-0 win at Q.P.R) Blackburn have been a bit unlucky this season but I think this will be it for Steve Kean. Bolton win and Steve Kean will have lost his job within 24 hours. Aston Villa Vs Arsenal: 0-2. Aston Villa were poor against us and they have been negative in a few of their games this season. Arsenal will have too much for Villa and the pressure will continue to mount on McLeish. Manchester City Vs Stoke City: 3-1. Manchester City and David Silva will prove too much for a resilient Stoke City. City will take the lead but Stoke will grab a equalier and go in at half-time 1-1. City will end up having too much quality in the second half and City will keep picking up the results. Newcastle United Vs West Bromwich Albion: 1-1. A tight game will result in a point for both sides. A game of few chances but a goal in each half will make sure that both fans will be happy with the point. Everton Vs Swansea City: 0-1. Swansea will pick their first away win of the season at our Merseyside rivals. A usually strong Swansea defensive performance will frustrate Everton and they will nick a goal from a swift counter-attack. Fulham Vs Manchester United: 1-2. Fulham has been a difficult ground for United in recent years but they will grind out the win to keep them in touch with City. An early FUlham goal will put the pressure on but United will up the tempo in the second half and get the goals they need. Queens Park Rangers Vs Sunderland: 0-2. Despite the loss at Spurs, Sunderland will get the three points in London. Q.P.R haven't been the best at home and I feel their poor record at home will continue. A couple of early goals will kill of Q.P.R and Sunderland will hold out to get the three points and push up the table. Wigan Athletic Vs Liverpool: 1-3. Feeling confident about this one. I think we'll finally start scoring goals and I think Carroll will get a goal. Henderson & Bellamy to get the other two and help us push towards the top four. Tottenham Hotspur Vs Chelsea: 0-0. A tight game and no goals. Both teams will want to avoid the defeat and this will result in a tight game. Few chances and I think Spurs will be happy with the point. Not sure Chelsea will be happy with a point though...
Tuesday, 20 December 2011 Wolverhampton v Norwich 1:1 Blackburn v Bolton 2:2 Wednesday, 21 December 2011 Aston Villa v Arsenal 0:3 Man City v Stoke 3:0 Newcastle v West Brom 1:1 Everton v Swansea 1:0 Fulham v Man Utd 0:1 QPR v Sunderland 1:1 Wigan v Liverpool 1:3 Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea 2:2
Tuesday, 20 December 2011 Wolverhampton v Norwich 0:1 Wolves get bitten by Paul's Norfolk posse Blackburn v Bolton 1:1 The sack race - a draw gets the boardroom blood racing. Wednesday, 21 December 2011 Aston Villa v Arsenal 0:1 Gooners do just enough to compound Villan woes. Man City v Stoke 4:0 Citeh cruise to another victory. Newcastle v West Brom 2:1 Newcastle find winning ways again as Baggies try to hold out for a draw. Everton v Swansea 1:1 Dull and desperate draw disappoints Gollum. Fulham v Man Utd 0:1 United show us how to grind out a result despite a poor performance. QPR v Sunderland 1:0 Lots of huff and puff from the Mackems, but Warnock's boys edge them out. Wigan v Liverpool 0:2 Routine, hitting crossbar and upright on the way. One we could win by more, if decisions and luck went our way... Thursday, 22 December 2011 Tottenham v Chelsea 1:1 Close game with few chances, Chelsea edging it, but Cech error hands a draw to Harry's mob.
I take it you're off from college Chris? I've done my predictions on I know the score. Will let you know how I did this round afterwards.
