SUNDERLAND, LATEST NEW Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat has urged midfielder Jack Rodwell to add some steel to his game and get a little nastier. The former Everton ace appears to be finding his feet in the Black Cats midfield with a great display against Swansea before he got amongst the goals in the Capitol One Cup clash with Exeter. However, if he is to cement a regular first team place then Advocaat wants to see more bite. Rodwell appears to be a in a battle with Seb Larsson and potentially Lee Cattermole in Advocaat's thinking to partner French international Yann M'Vila. Advocaat told the Echo: "I think Rodwell can do even better, even though the Swansea game was the best game I have seen from him. "He can play much better aggression-wise, second ball-wise and interaction during the game. "In principle, he is a player that can use his right and left foot, but the aggression is part of it too. "If you can't do that in the top league, then you have no chance."
Dick Advocaat has asked Liam Bridcutt to get stuck in the lift, the car, the toilets.......... Anwhere except the changing room x
