Very interesting story on a Brentford attacking midfield player

    http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/22267/mccarthy-at-brentford

I particularly like the part that reads: "After a successful three-week trial at Ajax, who offered him a contract, he instead decided to join Brentford, signing a deal which is up at the end of the season." How very bizarre!

Could be a plan B as the Wordsworth deal seems to be stalling..

Also, I notice 'Arry has gone and spent a club record £8million on a striker, with probably more signings to follow It would seem that DJ may well be on his way out of the club, but sadly I doubt he'll be coming back to us.

Congrats on getting your pips KOPR <ok>

£350K is the buy out clause so definately worth a punt. I hear that Wordsworth is bound for Charlton so I think that deal is dead (if there was ever an offer in the first place). Robbie Cowling has said that there has been no contact from Town about Wordsworth!

There are two sets of eyes watching now JWM.
We could definitely use a creative midfield playmaker so I'm glad that Mick is in the market for one.

On a seperate note DJ will be released by QPR during this window according to TWTD but Crystal Palace apparently are favourites to sign him!

Sounds like we'd do well to get Forrester in who himself says he's staying at Brentford until the end of the season. If we announce we've signed Camp, Wordsworth, Forrester and DJ come the end of the week I'll be very happy. They're the type of players we should be going for!!

Although have to say I'm in 2 minds about DJ, I have no doubt that he'll do well for us and be a good signing but we've got so many strikers on our books now 3 of which Mick has just brought in, so I can't help think DJ will be on a fair wack and will also mean it will stunt some of our own strikers who are alot younger. Although saying that despite the fact we've got all these strikers, none of the bar Chopra really striker me as a goalscorer and he isn't scoring goals atm (albeit he's not really being given the chance! I'm still slightly puzzled as to why we've signed McLean!!

Camp is definitely available and could be a good addition. We do have a lot of strikers at the moment but if we get DJ and sign McGoldrick in the summer then I can see us having those two plus Nouble for next season. Chopra, Scotland and Ellington will all move on and depending on how McLean does he will be an option. I see McLean as a back up plan more than a top target. Not sure what's going to happen with Murphy and remember there's still Taylor to come into the equation.

Congrats to the two of you. I know that Guru wouldn't mind.

Even if we did no other business this transfer window has been so refreshing after all the beating around the bush of the last three years!

All these options sound positive. I'm not holding my breath of DJ what a coup it would be to have him up front with McGoldrick!
