Who would you ideally line up in midfield? I was at St Mary's on Tuesday and watched today's game on sky and I just don't think Cork and Schneiderlin have done alot. Shoot me down, but I think Deano needs to be re introduced. Also, I can't wait for Chappers to return, we need our little bald head back, we've definitely missed him.

    My starting Midfield would be:

    Punch---Cork---Deano---Lallana

Haven't seen alot of Falque but possibly swap him and Puncheon around from time to time. Also, I still think de Ridder has been a quality impact sub in most games, so people shouldn't be writing him off at all.

You couldn't possibly judge Cork and Schneiderlin on todays pitch !

They are easily our best centre mids but it all deppends on the type of game or who we play.

No Chaplow????!!!!! (Or are you just leaving him out for time being, as he's injured)

Personally, once everyone is fit, I'd really struggle to pick a midfield - and I don't envy Adkins in the slightest. In particular, right-midfield is exceptionally difficult. I'd want to start Chaplow, Guly and Puncheon there, and then there's De Ridder too. God, makes a right old change to 6 weeks ago, when we were having to stick Morgan out there!!

Well from the last two games, I'd play Deano and Morgan in the middle with Punch and Lallana on the flanks. Chappers will be great when he's back , but the balance of the floor.

My issue with Cork and Morgan to gether is simply the lack of nastiness. Both quality players, but when they play together I'm always worried we will get bossed out of it.

Hard to pick a 4 and I think it must change for some games.

Lack of nastiness? I really don't know where this comes from out of all our CM's Morgan puts himself about the most, wins the most ball back and puts his body on the line. He has somehow picked up this tag of not being a tackler and bottling challenges. This is utter bollocks. He regularly out muscles opposing players. That big bastard today, Morgan won more than his fair share of ball of him, and was probably our best player after the first 20.

Thanks for telling me you consider my opinion "utter bollocks" Joey B. I'm beginning to realise that you are the font of all football knowledge after you excellent half a season for Salisbury.

One day you'll mature and contribute on here without abusing someone or using foul language, particularly when it is about an opinion different to yours.

    Show some grace.

I would not be jumping to too many conclusions on today's game. It was crap conditions for midfielders to control any kind of game, hence why Birmingham chucked out that massive number 8 who couldn't actually kick a ball. In fact it was pretty impressive that we managed to string more than two passes together all night. Get Burnley at home on a sunny Saturday, and we will teach them a footballing lesson.

PS we are the fourth team to take a point from Brum...it should be happy days on here.

Schneiderlin was our best player today IMHO.

If Puncheon plays like he has done in the last 3 games for the rest of the season, then surely you can't leave him out, even when chappers is back?

I hope he carries on in this vein, as he looked liked he really was on it tonight.

It's why I don't envy Adkins. When fit and available, Puncheon, Chaplow and Guly all have very strong cases to start in that position in my opinion. I just can't pick between them. (It doesn't help either that all three are quite big favourites of mine!)

    Puncheon - Cork - Morgan - Lallana

Also agree Morgan was our best player today after first 20, bossed their midfield imho.
Puncheon had a v.good first half also.
