Midfield for Saturday

Well as our Midfield is going to **** through injuries, who do we have left to go in midfield?

We've got still fit:

Cabaye, Obertan & Gutierez (CBA to check spelling)

Possible replacments:
Gosling, Vuckic,Sammy, Perch (If Kadar or Santon go in at CB, IF Colo is fit) or last resort Smith!!!! (Has it got that bad)

or do we go ultra offensive with 3 in midfield with Ba, Best & Strolla up front

 

Time for some youngsters to step up into the squad. Abeid,Richardson,Streete all having excellent seasons for the reserves.

On Saturday,with what we have left to choose from I would go with:

Obertan-------Cabaye------Gosling--------Jonas

 

Just seen mentioned on another thread Abeid who I think is a DM, so might even go for him. Forgot Ben Arfa as well, but it's DM we seem to be struggling with.

 

If Pards goes with 1 up top Abeid would be my extra midfielder. I think he is predominantly a DM but is very versatile and can fill in anywhere across the middle

 

Rumour going around is he is being primed to be Tiote's replacement in January.

 

Wouldn't surprise me, Saturdays the perfect time for him to start getting some practice in then!!

Problem with that is neither are that defensive minded, and with the state our defence is in at the minute that would be a worry.

If Colo is in then maybe that would work, but really need a good strong defensive player in to protect the back 4 to try and help them have an easier game.

 

I'm a firm believer that the best form of defence is attack...

Agree the best form of defence is attack, but still need to have some protection at the back

 

Perch is a machine, we could play him at the back be myself....

...in fact, thats my new line up, the 1-5-4 formation.

 

Don't see this, if he's going to be his replacement in January why isn't he his replacement at the moment while he's injured?

 

Cause he has been away playing for his country, only came back last week I think.

As I say just a rumour so don't know what to make of it just yet.

But for the record CWAR has tweeted he is on the bench for Saturday, so he's obviously reading my comments

Abeid or Gosling in for Guthrie, simple as that. Pards isnt going to switch to a 4-3-3 or put Ben Arfa in CM for an away game.

 

Why are people seriously suggesting Smith?!

 

Because thats who i beleive Pardew will go with

 

I'm certainly not, he's a very last resort IMO.

Pards may see it diffrently though, which is the worrying thing.
