we seem to have about 420, 000 midfielders and now there is talk of diarra ( is he or what?) and barton( ffs...NOOOO!).
how many do we need to jettison to leave us with an appropriate selection?
I am assuming that the little girl will be gone.
don't we still need a striker - is adebayor really coming? - and what about a new partner for dawson, cos kaboul , imo, is not in the same league as him or king for that role.?
the young boys did well last week. are they ready?
and can Arry shut up until sep 1st please. save it for the tax evasion cross-exam.

    Hello again!

I actually like Kaboul. I think he's got all the attributes of a top centre half. He's not the same player that got roasted over and over again when he first signed as a youngster and was our only fit centre back.

We have got lots of midfielders, but there are quite a few that just aren't good enough. Wilson (alas, since his personal problems), Jenas and Bentley could all disappear without detriment whatsoever to the squad.
I think we need Diarra to cover Sandro's injury and to provide competition at defensive midfield. I don't think Hudd is mobile enough to be DM and i see him more as an attacking threat with his passing and long range shooting.
I'd like to see Hudd and Niko share the big girl's position this season, depending on opposition. With Niko and VdV sharing the, erm, VdV position. Then Sandro or Diarra at DM. I think that would be solid and creative.

Up front i think Adebayor will be a success, if only for 1 season. Defoe looked sharp against (an admittedly poor) poor Hearts team so i'm hoping he'll have a good season too.
