QPR, along with our opponents on Wednesday night, Middlesbrough, are two of ten teams on 4 points, with only Forest and Preston yet to get on the score board. Boro's manager, Neil Warnock, is fondly remembered for his Championship winning season at QPR, and he along with his long time assistants, Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson, have bought in Joe Lumley (from us), Sammy Ameobi (from Forest) and Sol Bamba (from Cardiff). Given Warnock's record in the Championship they must surely be hopeful about going into this season, and they look to have a decent squad. As for us, a win and a draw has been a decent start to the year, and a win, or even a draw will really raise hopes from this year. Saturday's 3-0 win against Hull was very encouraging. It was a relatively close game if you just look at the stats, with Hull having 45% possession, and 12 shots compared to our 14, but we managed to convert our chances into goals. Lovely stuff. Tricky team selection tonight which is a good problem to have, my guess is; Dieng Dickie, de Wijs, Barbet Odubajo, Wallace Ball, Johansen, Chair Willock Austin Tough on Dykes and Dozzell also pushing for a place.
Win this one and I might get up early on Saturday and go down for the Barnsley game. Yes I really am that fickle.
I would not be surprsed with this starting line up, except that Sam Mc Callum may make his 1st team debut in place of Wallace. As for Dykes, I think he will replace Charlie after 60 minutes. Willock may also be on as a sub.
