Where do you guys see them in a year or two then? I thought I'd talk about something other than the Enrique situation.

I personally see them staying in the Championship for a very long time. Fighting relegation for the first few seasons, then finally trying to scrape themselves up back into the premier league. Don't worry about heat, there are no middlesbrough support on this site.

Yes Mackems are welcome we can all poke fun at our ******ed neighbour <ok> <laugh>

Mid table Championship. They are so ****. 30k to 14k in 5 years! I feared they would do well when they had Viduka and Yakubu, thank god for Mclaren and Southgate :)

  3. I see them in the bottom end of the championship, not quite relegated but in around 13th-19th place.

Then i reckon after a few years they'll push for the play offs. <ok>

They'll go nowhere. Ever. They'll just sit there in the Fizzy Pop League until the end of time.

Fizzy pop fodder IMO, would like to see them back at the top just so the NE is better represented, but their 'support' doesnt deserve it really.

Exactly why I'm glad Sunderland are doing rather well, it makes the entire region look better.

I hope they come back up, know their keeper pretty well. However I see them in the Championship for quite some time. They don't have the fans to support themselves financially either. Unlucky!

Think they'll do well next year, and get back within the next 3 years. The become the new yo-yo club.

**** team, **** football, **** fans, **** ground situated in the arsehole of the north (tied with liverpool), tash could be standing in the away end on his own and still make more noise than their 'fanatical' home support. The one game they ever attempt (badly) to get up for is when they play us and even then it's a joke!!!! Grinds my gears when people called our games a tyne tees derby, you may have invented a county for yourselves smog rats but you'll always be a small town in yorkshire. The saving grace however is that barring an f.a cup draw we'll not have to play them for years now fingers crossed. they've found the level (still struggling) that their joke club deserves to be in and when gibson finally gets bored of bankrolling them they'll go bust again (for the sake of humanity permanently i hope) !!!!!!!

Apart from that their brilliant!!! <whistle>

I think they'll be around the play-offs next season under Mowbray. Can't see them going up for another few seasons though.

I worked in Teesside and Hartlepool when we were in the Championship and most of this season too. I kept telling my Boro' fan mates that if they didn;t get promoted within the period of the parachute payments that they are in real trouble.

The amount players Strachan bought and the ones he didn't offload made for a fairly large wage bill for a CCC/nPC side. They will need to invest wisely and do some brilliant sales to even think about Play-offs in the next 3 seasons....probably see them back in the EPL in 5 or 6 years as long as Gibson doesn't complete interest!

Smogs do my nut in. They twist about the chairman spending money on a golf course instead of the team. Yet hes a buisnessman and he probably has more people visiting his course in a day than go to see boro

Love their chairman, seems a genuine bloke who's interested in his local football team, it's a massive shame that the club doesn't have loyal fans to fund a push back into the Prem. I can see them not only staying in the Championship for a while but with the possibility of serious financial trouble.

Biggest wagebill in the Championship yet 11th in the attendance table, even Gibson has admitted this cannot continue. This will mean more player sales in the summer, a reduction in squad quality. Boro are 15th in the table currently so it could mean flirting with relegation in upcoming seasons.

The only passionate football fan in Middlesbrough is Steve Gibson.

i stupidly backed Chelski, Boro and Southampton to win their respective leagues this season. <doh>

Out of the 3 I really thought Boro had the best chance. <doh>

Just goes to show how much I know about football.

Anyway I like Boro's chairman. He has never been afraid to back his manager so I think they will be challenging for the playoffs next season, if not the next. But what do I know.

My sister's boyfriend is a follower, used to be a big fan but said the heart has been ripped out of them...Reckons their biggest mistake was sacking Southgate?

I reckon Mowbray will do well with them but it'll take them a good few years (and the ability to hang onto their quality youngsters) to come back up!
