I see our game against Boro has now been switched to Fri evening at 7.45 - 3 days after our trip to Elland Road. Let's hope we go above them on the league after this fixture!!!
I bet any Boro fans planning a trip to Carrow Road are well made up with a 7:45PM kick-off on a Friday Night
The Boro fans have every right to complain about this, as they will be charged £40 and a horrid journey. Having said that, I made the trek up to teesside earlier this season on a Tuesday night, so sod 'em!
I seem to be moaning about a lot this week but yet again this topic has infuriated me. Why has the game been switched? Simply because television demands it and hands out a big wad of cash to make it happen. The motto for Sky and the others should be "sod the fans" because as has been said above, who would want to travel 250 odd miles from the North East on a Friday night through choice? Let alone the journey back which would start around 10 0'clock, finishing at around 3 the following morning, ridiculous! The sad thing is that we have accepted games on Sunday afternoon at 4 0'clock as part of our culture now as well as 12.15 games on Saturdays and the 8 0'clock on Monday night (another great invention!), I have to say that I miss the old 3 0'clock Saturday starts for all because by 4.45 you knew where you were in the table, now it is all over the place up to 10 0'clock on Monday night. I really wonder whee this may all end, but one thing is for sure, when the decisions are made nobody will give the fans a second thought.
Trouble is Thurnby, there's now a whole generation which has never known anything but this. We must be getting old!
This Also, for the Boro fans to get here, they will have to leave by early afternoon. What could/should have been a tremendous atmsophere between the 2 sets of fans has been ruined!!!!
Absolutely JR, but as the game has prostituted itself this is the net result. The question now is not why but how much.
On the plus side, beyond Dereham the roads should be almost traffic free, so might only take them 4 hours to get back
