Was listening to Talksport yesterday and he seemed quite annoyed at this takeover when he phoned Jim White. He's on the show this morning but I won't get chance to listen but he was saying something along the lines of he heard something was going to happen in the next 2 to 3 weeks (as he said last week) but it WASN'T this deal - he said this deal was thrown together in 48 hours apparently.

My guess is that he's full of **** and just grasping for airtime ratings - or he didn't know about this deal as, for it to be as far along as EFL rating, I guess something has been ongoing for some time - or that I've misunderstood what he's said! Whichever way - if anyone get's chance to listen, if you could post some sort of synopsis on here it'd be greatly appreciated.

If things change and I get chance then I'll post it on here.

Deal's done. I always liked Micky Gray but his views are no more insightful than any of the other ex-players who've spoken to the press in the last 24 hours.

I think Gray probably has an inside connection or two with the club but more like the tea lady and the kit man than Short and Bain.

He's a bit of a dick really. This isn't the first time he's stirred up **** at the club.

Now he's implying that we fans might be in for more twists and turns after we have looked to have sorted it, if him and his bum chums get their way.

Here is a quick snapshot of what Micky Gray just said:
    • He's not involved but he is concerned about how the Donald deal is moving.
    • He mentioned that Repsol may be involved and also talk of an American bank being involved.
    • He says that the parachute payments are £40M but the wage bill is around £26M.
    • Sunderland have to be promoted at the first attempt.
    • Sunderland have about 7 on-loan players, and various players out of contract, they probably need another 14 players for this season.
    • 2 player deals have not gone through the books - one being an Inter Milan player - this will need to be sorted (paid for) by the new owners.
    • This has been rushed through and this is far from done. Where do the funds come from?
    • Donald has put up Eastleigh for sale, he has invested £10M over 5-6 years. Implying that he does not have enough funding.
    • My gut instinct is that Donald needs help as he does not have the relevant experience, he truly believes that this is the wrong direction for the club.

Just been listening to him on Talksport and he's not a happy chappy!
He reckons we are all getting ahead of ourselves and it could all go tits up. He said even if takeover goes through... If we don't get promoted 1st go we could go into administration. He's also said that if the backers walked away after not being promoted it would leave that Eastleigh bloke on his Todd and he has nowhere near enough money to do it alone. An American bank and Repsol are the backers apparently.
Mickey Gray the twat has got me worried lol.

Exactly - he's about as in the know as you and me.

A quick trawl through twitter or reading the other SAFC forums would have found more than that. <laugh>

Of course nothing is signed, the EFL have to ratify the deal before it can be signed...but they surely must have reviewed the details before SAFC made the annoucement. Repsol used to sponsor Honda when Micky Doohan rode for them in the GP, he was unbeatable so I hope the sponsor has simmilar sucess with us cos it would nice to be unbeatable for a change ;o)

got to admit much prefer Repsol and a yank bank, knowing our luck we will end up with someone that has less money than Nads or Vince <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>, not poor but not enough to run a club

I listened yesterday and today, imho he came across as a bitter, nose right out of joint, Jim white wannabe, the bigging up from talk sport for the previous 48 hours was abysmal, fickley gray, fumbled and said nothing of merit, was quite embarrassing but Jim whites comments such as “Michael you know so much” inflated the head to the point of bursting. Fickle gray knows **** all and was blatantly obvious that he had an interest with some party which was snubbed and he denied.

Decent player for Safc, was over the moon when he got his England cap.

    Now think he’s a total **** tbh

It's so funny listening to Jim White - Only one worth his salt on that show is Bob Mills. I like him (I've met him at an amateur fight some years ago) and he's a lovely bloke and always seems to speak the truth.

Jim White and Micky Gray can both go and **** themselves - or each other as Jim's head was so far up Micky's arse that it was difficult to see where one ended and the other began!!
