He has now been saying how he wants more goals from Berra!! No mention of the forwards and midfield, just seems a strange thing to go on about, I would much rather he talk about lack of incoming players etc than this non story!! I think he is losing the plot, people on twtd are naturally all over it, never thought I eould say this but bring back Magic!!

Agree with this Spanish, when I saw this I was " WTF he's a CB " - He's already scored seven for us compared with zero at Wolves.

All I can think is Mick thinks he's capable of adding more which is good, but I don't think this needs saying in public does it!?

As for the midfield, would be nice if they could chip in with a few...............

Can't see anything to wrong with what he said I'm sure it was among a whole bunch of things said in an interview, it's not as if MM is slating him at all but as you say it's a non story just a page filler.

More to the point for me, it's August 28, we're very close to transfer deadline closing and it's gone very very quiet.

That said, it often is when WHAM BANG a new signing enters Portman Road. Boy do we need a couple.

PS - Mings will 100% be dropped Saturday. How many times has Mick said " he's amazing is Ando, Skusey, good shift bla bla bla this leagues bonkers " then they've been dropped Saturday.

    Come on Parr :)

Perhaps he's preparing to move Berra up front to give us even more defensive cover through the side<doh>
He could be reaching his ideal formation 4 centre backs,a midfield of two fullbacks and two defensive midfielders,Berra in front of that as sweeper and Didds on his own way up the pitch!

I thought of playing Berra up top to score goals but never thought of it the way you have!! Your idea makes far more sense and is in line with the MM way.
Weighty i know what your saying but if you are going to talk about any individual scoring, surely you would talk about the forwards/midfield needing to score more? Just a tad bizzare in my eyes!!

I presume it was as a reply to a question about Berra's goals at Brum so that's why he was picked out.

I can understand some of the points but I think due to the poor start and especially losing to Norwich some things are being blown out of proportion.

Weighty,my disillusionment with MM's style of play goes back way beyond a couple of disappointing results this season.

Hyam told the star last weekend that everyone at the club had been set goal scoring targets. MM had taken 100 quid of every player and they would any get it back if the goal scoring target was met. If not it would go to charity. The 3 players who are furthest away from their set target will have to undertake a forfeit. It did make me laugh as Hyam as been set a target of 5 (i think it said) and so far he has only score two in the whole of his career!

Didn't mean a knee jerk reaction what I meant was that because people are pissed off every micro decision and comment is being dissected and given greater gravitas.....

.....couple of wins and all will be back on an even keel.................I hope.

weighty is correct. Nobody seemed to care about boring defensive football when we were winning. Loads laughed when MM came out in press conferences with comments about player failings rather than what they done right. After a few poor results based on the same ethos that MM has always had at the club the knives are out. For some like Spanish, who has never been a fan, its a way of vindicating the negativity they have previously received, for others, like me, who likes to debate (or drone on as some would see it) it gives more to discuss and for some its just another slip down the slide which we seem to have been dropping down for a few seasons. A few are probably fickle and a few can not look past the Norwich result/ performance. We have a wide spectrum of supporters with an equally wide specturm of views. Thats life!

Sorry Tractorbhoy but I remember getting flack from certain quarters last season when I critisized our style of play even though we were getting better results at the time.

sorry BigAl - just a generalisation. I just meant peoples views are amplified currently and as weighty has said every little aspect of MM is now under the microscope. Ive never been a fan of the style of play under MM either. I thought PJ was trying to do things the right way but failed. After that I was prepared to accept boring solidity over entertaining humilations! and it was harder to justify your want of flair whilst the results were going the right way. with the uninspiring way the season has started all those little niggling thoughts are coming to the fore.
