Anyone know how Michu is doing for Napoli ? Does he play much/ is he injured ? I don't pay a lot of attention to random stuff on twitter, but there's a few tweets about Michu wanting to "come home" - if that was to be the case, where does home mean football-wise ? He was awesome in his first season for us, and I'm sure many would love him back if he could recapture that form.
Dont care to be honest, made his nest in someone else's tree and those who would happily forgive... or never saw that he turned his back on the club... are deluded and give in to player power. PS. He has a grand total of **** all goals in Serie A this season.
I mentioned this recently on another thread, Stereo but can't remember which one. BigKidderz did some research and Project is right. Michu has been pretty much pants so far - this stupid pass instead of shooting just an example (see video). Had he handled his departure a little better and perhaps showed a little respect to this Club and its fans I think most of us would actually care how his career progressed, but although I'm grateful to him for that fabulous first season, to quote my son "I'm kinda meh about Michu". Normally I'd agree Lib. I cringe when see ex-players getting booed by home fans. I remember years ago seeing Shearer playing for Newcastle on TV when they played Blackburn away. Every time he touched the ball he was booed by virtually every home fan - and this was the guy who almost single-handedly gave them the title not that long before. Pathetic. But with Michu he refused to play for a Club he'd signed for and for a manger and fans that wanted him to stay. OK fair enough, but then he doesn't even express any thanks to the Club or more importantly to the fans on social media. Poor form imo. Contrast that with JDG's response, even though the circumstances were different. On this occasion I've a lot of sympathy with the '**** you' attitude of the fans.
re Michu - I wasn't aware that he had actually refused to play for The Swans'. My comment was a general observation.
Do we have confirmation that he said he doesn't want to play ? It seems that's the feeling but I don't remember seeing it.......
You do not have to be Einstein to work that one out, Why would we want to loan out one of our best ever forwards? Surely you cannot be serious about wanting confirmation.
So,he didn't refuse to play then. You don't need to be Einstein to come to that conclusion from your post As to why would we want to loan out one of our best ever forwards, can I suggest a one word answer, beginning in M,and ending in K?
Something happened that we don't know about that upset the entire Spanish section (bar Amat) of our club that were brought in under ML (Chico, Canas, Pozeulo, Hernandez, Michu),do you see a pattern appearing? Because I do......So yes, lets pretend that it has to be Michu's fault for being loaned out. There are those that believe Canas and Pozuelo caused trouble, they could be right, but many of those people say that is why Canas never played under Monk.
There is none so blind as those who do not want to see! carry on girls believing Michu wanted to play for us, your only making yourselves look stupid.
Well, we got rid of him and brought in Gylfi. Great bit of business by Monk P.S. Anyone watching QPR game? What a finish. Glad we didn't sign Caulker now
So he never actually said,"I don't want to play any more for Swansea City? I'm not sure where the blindness comes from. Actually,I am.
I do believe that Monk at some stage was specifically asked about Michu and stated he wanted him to stay and was "having a meeting" to discuss it with him. I'm sure this was on Wales Today as I distinctly remember seeing it. If that's right (and it should be, as although Monk had clearly ousted the majority of the Spaniards he'd be a fool to oust our then best player) then it's not an unreasonable assumption that Michu wanted the loan move. Again, that wasn't a surprise as he came here because of Laudrup, not a burning desire to play for us (as did Hernandez). Some facts that we know, but some are logical assumptions based on what we know. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on Michu and on why he left but I'm comfortable with my belief that he wanted this move and was not ousted by Monk. I'm prepared to agree that I may be wrong, but that's my belief.
Indeed he did, he played quite a few games under Monk, I can't remember off the top of my head, but am sure he made 10+ appearances under Monk.
Oh I agree with you that Michu wanted out, I don't agree that he should be blamed for it though. There is a reason 5 Spaniards all left the club, but the focus here is on Michu. Hence why it is my belief that there is more than meets the eye. As for not saying anything after his loan move. The way some were slagging him off on here during the talks, I wouldn't put it past some to have said things too his face whilst he was still here. Take all the **** that was spoken about his injury and recovery, maybe he had problems and as a person couldn't find it in himself to thank fans that may have given him grief. This is purely speculation, but at least based on fan reactions that was seen here on this very forum.
Well reasoned as usual,Dragon. The bottom line is we just don't know. I tend to play devil's advocate and argue against anything emanating from the fingers of the other Dragon, and his ilk.
