Swansea Cityâs Spanish star Michu has been voted as the Player of the Season so far in a poll carried out by Absolute Radio. Michu secured 22% of the vote, meaning that he beat Manchester United striker and fellow Premier League top scorer Robin van Persie into second place.... http://www.footballfancast.com/foot...n-united-striker-to-player-of-season-accolade
I know I'm biased but I totally agree with the result. Michu has been fantastic for us and I hope that will long continue.
No afraid not "Finally, in joint-fourth place with 7% of the vote were Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez " and no mention of trundle so by my reckoning it must be Michu,
van p is a better player but its not all about goal scorers, I would not say Michu is the best but he is up there with the best, leon has to be up there also, Holt is another who is good, Tremmel has been one of the best keepers in the prem. there are many many players who are as good and some better than michu and some that are not as good...But i would not say michu is the No1 player by any stretch of the imagination...
It's good to see one of our players gain recognition and nice to see that fans of other clubs can see the contribution that Michu has made. On goals scored it is well deserved too.
Well what ever our opinions 22 % of the votes went to a SWANSEA CITY player and I'm more than happy to bask in his reflected glory .Cheer up Dai ,Downing may win it next year .
Do you know how to work out percentages Dai ?I thought you were a business man , can I be your accountant, I could make me opps sorry you, loads of money
Jesus Dai. I know you've been taking a bashing on the forum recently, about being more of a Liverpool than a Swansea fan, but I figured some people were going a bit too far with the name calling. But here a Swansea player wins an award and you don't celebrate it? If you bumped into him on the high street I get the feeling you'd probably say "you didn't deserve that award" rather than ask for his autograph.
I can't help but wonder what the PC brigade on here think, not just about Michu's recognition but also Dai's apparent negative comments. You know who you are (no not you FFS), the ones who defend him or say they're bored with it all and to leave him alone. I would be very interested to read your comments on this, eg Are you pleased for Michu ? Or are you in agreement with Dai ? Personally I think it's brilliant that any Swans player gets recognition but that's just me.
think its brilliant, hope he keeps his good work. best player in the league, hmmmmmmmmm but glad he won the poll. def the best buy of the season.
My initial reaction was WTF , a player from our club has gained (inter) national recognition in his first season with us and one of the first responses was a negative comment, now I'm of the opinion that the we're all relatively intelligent on here (well we can switch the lap top on so that must count for something)and there fore will make up our own minds on how to respond .Me personally I think Dai is a wum but a harmless wum (there I said it twice so it must be true) and likes to spark a reaction for debate Its debatably whether Michu is the player of the season but if people are prepared to vote and he comes out on top then we should celebrate it ,we're battling hard in this league and for a club the size of ours that will always be the case so anything positive which gives recognition to our club then we should embrace it whole heartily.
This is a great result for him considering the up hill struggle to get top in these polls. At the end of the day, bias does come into the voting and you can bet there are lots of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal fans etc who would only vote for their own players... so to see a Swansea player get it is remarkable, as we do not have a large enough contingent to influence these votes in any meaningful way. Fans from other teams must be truly impressed by him for this to happen. Well done Michu, the population has spoken.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I dont class you three as part of the PC brigade or Dai's disciples. Still waiting on them
Errrrrrrrrrm all i said is i personally dont think he is the best player in the premiership.. What is wrong with that..? some of you look for things that are not there.
