He's obviously bound to say this, but it's always a comfort to hear it anyway. I'd love for him to get his Spanish cap while with us, maybe that will be extra reassurance for him that he wouldn't need to move to Athletico to get a call up. If he sees as his alternative a Spanish club and not another Prem club then I think we're in a very good position. He seems a very grounded individual. We have a strong Spanish contingent at the club that makes the place seem a home from home ... and in Laudrup you have a person very cultured and capable in the Spanish style. This is not easy to replicate at any other club. I think he deserves a call-up to the Spanish international squad - definitely more so than Torres or any other Spanish player in the Prem. Imagine what he could do for Spain with the likes of Iniesta and Xavi feeding him passes.
Personally I think we need petition the Welsh Assembly to remove Welsh from road signs and replace them with Spanish and Danish to make the players and managers feel more at home. But I am a little crazy so you may want to ignore that suggestion.
I originally thought it interesting that he specifically mentioned Athletico, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that the interview was with a Spanish radio station. Maybe they brought them up and he was just answering about their interest
Very nice to read, i know its difficult seeing him linked in the media but i sometimes think us fans perpetuate the situation by talking about him moving to big clubs,almost like we panic ourselfs into it,of course we have been scarred in the past. i know given our history and how far we have come its sometimes uncomfortable trying to even beleive that players will stay here but there comes a time when we have to try and move away from thinking small time and start thinking big time,by that i dont mean top 4 or 70k a week wages but the experience we can offer many top players is a good one! we should remember this ! working with Laudrup,playing a strong La Liga style game,paying decent money in an area of cheap property and living costs and being only 2/3hrs from Spain are all positives we forget to look at sometimes. Im not pretending that the player will never leave but there are also incentives to bedding in at a club that is 100% solid from top to bottom. A player like Michu can learn his craft here for another year at least he then can move for the big money carrying more tools to do the job at a big club, its the perfect nursing ground for players like him down here and i think he is smart enough to realise that,we should give ourselves more credit i think. If Man city offer £30m he may get his head turned, he is only human, but Swansea is not a small club anymore its a thriving progressive club with an awesome playing style coached by one of the WORLDS greatest ex players who is a fluent Spanish speaker! we have plenty of positives to throw into the mix here too and 30k a week is probably 3 times the amount he was on at his last club (trusting that the board have him on a top line ) We never know what will happen but sometimes we have to throw caution to the wind and beleive !! Michu is a Jack Bastard so lets enjoy him,encourage him,love him and marvel at his skills

I've seen FFS and he is not a boy at all. In fact I'd say he looks like Freddie Kruger's scarier brother. That was when he was taking the tablets too.
