How would you feel if Mr Allam erected a statue of Wacko outside the KC ? I just dont get it, has he made Fulham a laughing stock? Will their fans get some stick over it home and away?
I'd get an impersonator on the pitch to dance in front of the away end if we scored against them. Maybe Nobby's cousin could do it!
It's completely barmy, he went to one game and was a friend of Al Fayed (speaking of barmy) Think it's a bit OTT though that Al Fayed has told Fulham fans where to go if they don't like it, it's something non football related and in a free speech society it's petty more than anything. Fair enough, it might make Fulham more known world wide, but not necessarily for the reason their fans would want. Statues outside football grounds really should be for club legends rather than music legends, i know how i'd feel if a statue of, for example, Elton John was unveiled outside the KC (no offence Reg)
If the criteria is someone who once visited a game, then there's always Omar Sharriff. Failing that, how about a twenty foot Maureen Lipman?
haha. Was discussing this with a colleague who is a Newcastle fan and he said if their chairman did anything like that he would be slaughtered by the fans
yep pointed that one out... then again didn't the previous chairman slag off the area, Alan Shearer as well
The obvious choice would be an 20 ft platinum statue of 'Gypsy Joe Longthorn'.Perhaps it could even be erected on top of the West stand.
Al Fayed should have stuck his statue on the bloody roof of Harrods FFS what has wacko got to do with english FA?.. there's the answer FA!
I heard that Joe once had an erection at the top of the west stand(something to do with men in shorts).
From what I've seen most of the Fulham fans are embarrased by this, I hope our Egyptian owners aren't starstruck by dubious pop-icons wouldn't fancy seeing Boy George or anything like that as I buy the match programme
On second (or even third!) thoughts - forget Arthur Lucan/Old Mother Riley..... ......Anyone remember Roland? aka "Itchy Coo"?
