I'm a little bit surprised by this, but then who would they consider as an alternative to Schumacher? Schumacher has the technical knowledge, experience and strong race pace. If he can keep up his current level of form, he should be a valuable asset to Mercedes in the future. Congratulations to Schumacher.
Congratulations to Schumacher. I feel a bit sorry for Rosberg who will remain F1's perennial enigma until he gets teamed with a current top driver who has no excuses. Now don't jump down my throat here shoe-makers! All I'm saying is that Rosberg needs to go up against a top driver who has not taken a small sabbatical or had a weak team-mate, (or one confined to a supporting role) for most of his career. Until he does, Rosberg will remain one of F1's greatest 'unknowns'. I rarely dip into the futility of the hypothetical but this time I will make an exception. Of the eight race drivers in the top four teams, I'd be confident about Rosberg beating only one of them other than Schumacher: I believe Massa would be easy meat. The other possibility would be Webber, who - for whatever reason - has paled in comparison to Vettel this season. So, in his current, enigmatic position, I don't see Rosberg being better than any of the remainder (in no particular order): Vettel; Button; Hamilton; or Alonso.
Rosberg is an idiot for signing that contract, it's been fairly obvious who Brawn treats as his no.1, there's only one driver he talks about, one driver he praises and 1 driver he designs his car for, and it isn't Rosberg. He obviously doesn't think he can beat a decent team-mate. I sort of agree with Cosi, except I think Cosi rates Rosberg a lot higher than I do
(Ahem) I tend to agree. It postpones any clarification on - or emergence from - his current, enigmatic state! But if Rosberg is relatively weak to the other top drivers, this would be a safe way of avoiding the obvious gladiatorial challenges that others have had to make at some point. (Button is an obvious example. Hamilton is another: he was prepared to go straight in against a current World Champ at the top of his game, widely regarded as the best in the world on merit at the time - and who, in the eyes of many, still holds that position).
Don't know why but I've got a feeling that next years Mercedes will be a great car. Just looking at what they've been up to, and who they have been signing for the team. So next season we might see what Rosberg is made off. Perhaps I'm being a little hopeful..... but we'll see soon (ish)
Congrats to Michael, he is rewarded many more years in the pinnacle of motor sport, because of his deep knowledge and experience and pace against drivers half his age, drive forever MSC. These are two drivers that instead of bailing out, want to bring the team to the top step of the podium again and again very soon. Also Cosicave, it's not the fact he had "weak" teammates, it's the fact that the other >20 drivers were slower and incapable of catching him for umpteen years.

Fricking Bild being biased and writing an untrue story, well- if he can still drive an F1 car as good as the 23 other drivers on the grid why stop?
Schumi will probably base whether to do 2013 based on his performance in 2012. You can never tell how much age will have an effect in another year but if he stays on current form he deserves and would want to stick around.
As long as Schumacher doesn't revert to his 2010-spec driving, Brawn should happily offer him a new contract. If he doesn't sign a new contract, it'll probably be his own choice.

When he is doing a good job why should he leave? Perhaps a more acurate thing for you to say would be "he should move on because i dont like him".
