Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Tottenham Hotspur will win against Queens Park Rangers away from home on Saturday.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker seems to believe that Spurs will have too much for their London rivals in the Premier League clash at Loftus Road.
“Just the one PL game this weekend but a cracking London derby which will have ramifications both for Champions League qualification and relegation with the R’s looking to avoid back-to-back home defeats against North London opponents just four days after their narrow 2-1 loss to Arsenal,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Rangers are without a win in ten London derbies
and their home form is the reason they are not marooned at the foot of the table despite their recent win at Sunderland.
“Charlie Austin and Harry Kane are two of the hottest young players in the PL and the great news is they are both English!”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Spurs to win at 4/5”.
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Tottenham will indeed head into Saturday’s game as the favourites, and like Owen, many football pundits and followers will back them to pick up all three points from the London derby.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side returned to winning ways on Wednesday when they got the better of Swansea City 3-2 at White Hart Lane.
These Michael Owen comments will make Tottenham fans very happy[/a]
That victory will have certainly enhanced the Spurs players’ confidence, and they will now be determined to build on it and maintain their challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
QPR, though, will not be easy pushovers despite their form and league position. Rangers showed in the first half against Arsenal that they can make life tough for big teams, and playing at home will also give them an added impetus.
Do you agree with Michael Owen’s prediction?

at least they have stopped talking about our away form
